charlie is a good girl and an alright unit! if you go down the light path, you even get a card that summons her for a few turns! edit: you can get her either by being light or doing all the abbey trials if you're dark. if you're dark there's a different legendary card for darkness, that light users can get from the abbey

I think you get it either way as long as you explore the abbey grounds. (Which NL hasn't done at all.)

I went dark and got it just by beating all the trials in the abbey. I honestly don't like it. On the hardest difficulty, it might be good for hitting nest mothers and taunting everyone to Charlie. Every other character is just so strong by the time you get the card that it just doesn't compare to any other card you could have used instead. It would have been super usable early to mid game though. The rewards for finishing the abbey and solving the mysteries are really worth it otherwise.

@@corpus1 yea you will get the opposite alignment legendary for doing all the trials, but i highly doubt NL will do anymore of that side content

@@Romancesymphony i agree with you, late-game it's not worth the 4 heroism and card play just to get a unit with average damage for 2 turns (3 upgraded, only possible with light path). she has decent combos like aoe mark into card draw knockback, or being able to redraw a bunch to make her bite useful, but she's too niche in what she can do outside of being a meat shield. if you go light path you get her significantly earlier and she was definitely very usable in the mid-game, but i still use the card late game because she's a good girl

You know it irks me a bit that NL complains so much about the dating aspect of this game but when the focus is the part he likes barely engages with like don't misuderstand me i love the videos but i wish he would care a bit more about his deckbuilding and upgrading.

The fact that he never upgrades cards is screwing him two-fold as well in that his cards suck for this point in the game and the lack of training XP means his environmental attacks are really weak as well. The next story mission is going to be real nasty. Entertaining but definitely confusing to ignore that part of the game.

I think part of the problem is that he decided to interact with the game ironically/sardonically at the beginning so he never really let himself enjoy it. There’s some depth to be enjoyed between the mod/upgrade system along with the relationship system if you allow yourself to enjoy with without the added pretentiousness

i was thinking about how this games tempo is insane, as each 1hr episode is a single mission, but he is playing on hard? hardest? difficulty right? i guess if you play normal you get less spongy enemies, as i feel most of the issues comes from everything having 700 HP

He isn't playing on a very difficult setting but the fact that he doesn't interact much with the relationship mechanics causes him to miss out on a lot of upgraded abilities, passives, and stat boosts. He also relies too much on quick moves which get worse the further you get in the game because they don't do much damage. It was pretty telling that Captain America was his main damage dealer in the Sabretooth mission because Cap has some of the lowest dps in the game

Not interacting with abbey exploration is also locking him out of really crazy items, that on the hardest difficulty are honestly usually the only way I can beat some missions. He's just now starting to interact with environmental attacks, and generally not learning enemy mechanics. Asides from the friendship passives @RatherDarkCorner mentioned, he's missing a ton of abbey upgrades that add key mechanics... like move for cure and push into friendly for card draw, also the training room to bring all of the heroes to the same level. But since he's plowing through story missions there's no way in hell NL will every touch any of that, so this or maybe one extra difficulty level is as high as is going to be realistic.

His attacks are ass, no upgrades. His heroes are ass, no upgrades/friendship. All of his decks are ass with the most incoherent cards smacked together. ESPECIALLY his 'Dark' hunter build which contain 2 dark unupgraded cards which are ass in isolation and he redraws every time. It was like a SL1 run. Combined with his refusal to read cards, mechanics or use enviromentals you get these epic long battles which for a 12 year old would take less than 15 minutes. And I'm all here for it, which is why I'm rewatching this trainwreck. Wouldn't want to have it any other way.
