This song didn't turn my crank like Dante did, but it is nice to know Northlane is still gonna go hard with the harsh vocals. Funny how we always worry a band is "selling out"/"going pop" when a single track lacks a scream.

I understand that music is subjective but this is just simply wrong. Obsidian was an excellent album, one of my favorites of 2022. But in NO way was it their heaviest work. It was not heavier in subject matter or instrumentation than previous works like Alien or Singularity. If you could elaborate I would love to hear it out. But for what I can see I can’t fathom Obsidian being their heaviest work.

@mattmcilwhan10 ай бұрын
I'm really hoping for a return to the heavy and mature writing from Deep Blue, Atlas and Ire. The early couple of albums are incredible, but they are super dated and it's obvious they don't want to make or maybe even listen to music like that anymore. Deep Blue and Atlas, imo, are where they peaked in their passion, and Ire and Reverence are where they peaked commercially - successful albums made to appeal to a broader hard rock/metal audience with little nods here and there to the metalcore fans and the original fans. Glitch or whatever the new album is called feels so clinical and poorly written, feels like there's no passion at all, I can't even listen to it. I honestly think they've lost it, which is disappointing but inevitable. Hopefully we'll see them come back strong with a new album soon that's a return to form or yet another direction change, but hopefully not another Glitch - FYI I love Reverance, it's one of my favourite albums period, but I feel like it's a one and done sound for Parkway.
@JMPK2310 ай бұрын
@@mattmcilwhan reverence was a great direction for them to start getting notice. Like borderline mainstream almost. Deep Blue is my #1. It's a masterpiece to me. And with tensions being high between each other, I truly believe they were just trying to finish that album as fast as they could. Hoping therapy helped them from a writing perspective.
