I used to design devices with light pipes and spreaders. It's a VERY precise skill and we could get a panel this size fully lit from one tiny LED. Great work here though. Worked a bloody treat.

Fun fact: when I was a kid I used to be terrified of puppets, Elmo included. This is literally my childhood nightmare. I'm glad this released now, because if I saw this as a kid I wouldn't be sleeping for at least a day or two.

Faking the TV wires with wires actually going to the TV for practical reasons is genuine genius problem-solving. Simultaneously faking the TV wires, using the actual TV wires? Come on dude, that's sick. Also, frosting the Perspex to diffuse the light is also incredibly intelligent and resourceful. I do wish the light strips were a cool white to emulate the blue light of a TV but the warm white fits the warm and cosy aesthetic of Sesame Street anyway so it works fine.

These days it's much harder for creepy things to crawl out of the tv to kill you as the prevelance of wall-mounted flatscreens means there's usually a substantial drop from tv to floor, and faceplanting upon emergence tends to ruin the terrifying atmosphere

@@ThatCraftyCorner Well they do generally eat bugs. Some even catch fish, rodents, birds, snakes, and other frogs, if they’re big enough, so they’re definitely predators. Some of them at least, if we’re not counting eating bugs as being a full on predator. I believe the general reason is so they can submerge themselves while keeping their eyes above water, but that’s usually used for waiting for prey to walk by, so it’s probably still a predatory evolutionary tactic.

I love and relate to this interpretation. Like a child in an abusive household using maladaptive daydreaming to imagine someone actually helping. Incredibly well done! This reminds so much of The Ring (2002), when Samara crawled out of the TV, which was so creepy and eerie. Elmo reaching out makes it all the more terrifying knowing that he’s leaping toward the person!

I was obsessed with Snuffleupagus when I was 2 and 3 years old (I was born in '89). I had this old plush of them I had with me everywhere.
