Must admit I don't really know what the attraction is. I check for and watch every video - why? Is it the way Alex handles his tweezers or perhaps it's the size of his tips? :-)
@SaltCollecta Жыл бұрын
I don't think there's stress, it's just problem solving. If it can't be fixed, it's unfortunate but that isn't stressful because the outcome is expected and dealt with accordingly.

Great Work 'Fellas'. I love the attention to detail by 'Big-Boss' cleaning the fan before re-assembly. It annoys me when buying a used laptop from a commercial seller that said the machine has been cleaned and tested, to find the fans still choked-up with dust upon delivery. You guys do things right and it's a pleasure to see.

I've said it many times and I'll say it again. You do amazing work. I would have assumed the small cap would not have been the issue and would have removed the chip as well. Also, I love how you pay attention to detail by cleaning the fan. Keep up the great work!

Nice fix but I'm confused about one thing. When he put power to across the caps to see what heated up I thought hey, that's a pretty neat idea! When he flipped the board over I thought he would surely do that again to identify the faulty component. But it was like he threw his thermal scope out the window and started unsoldering everything. But he fixed it, so I guess that's the important thing.

So small yet such a big problem. Great video as always. So in the end the value of the capacitor doesn't change the function?

it looked like it was just a bypass capacitor. so the value is usually not super critical only voltage rating. there are times though when the caps value needs to be right.

I like all your videos. When cleaning the fan I was always taught it was important to not let the cleaning air spin the fan because it could cause the rpm to go over the limit and cause some damage. idk, what do you think?
@xponen Жыл бұрын
no, brushless motor has no mechanical coupling with the fan assembly. So, the fan assembly can spin independent of the motor (they're couple magnetically). Only brushed motor are damaged at high rpm.
