A compilation video I made from the 2014 Northwest Fiero Fest in Richland, Washington. Filmed on a Nikon D7100 and edited with Final Cut Pro X. A special thanks to Mitch Lambert and Aaron Koch for supplying extra footage.

My mom got one brand new at 16 as her first car in 1984. It was silver and fully loaded. She drove it for 10 years, keeping her safe in about 5 car accidents. Finally the motor caught fire when she was on the freeway. My dad rebuilt the entire motor for her, and put his entire (small) savings into it. Unfortunately 2 weeks later it was stolen to never be seen again. Still, it is a great, sweet, loving story. Now, in honor of her fiero, we got another one and hope to keep it preserved for as long as we can.

I had a 1986 SE 2M6 in the early 90's and I had it sent to Germany while I was stationed there with the military in 1993 so I could drive it on the Autobahn! I had so much fun driving it fast, even fast enough to start to get the front end to lift!! I believe that was around 120 mph.

Just got mine out of the shop last night. '84 SE with... a brand new (reman) Iron Duke. And yes I know I could have swapped it out for something more powerful (to save you from typing a response to that end), but I wanted it correct. This video always gets me wanting to drive and after a year+ of battling smoke issues, finally I can do so with no worries. Thanks again for this great video. Whether we love Fieros, Porsches, GTO's, whatever, we must keep the culture of these cars alive. This current trend, and one which I feel is irreversible at this point, is toward these character-less, shapeless 'apps on wheels' and if people with passion for unique and interesting cars don't keep the cool stuff going, it'll all be gone before we know it. Whatever your automotive passion, I hope it stays alive with you. As for my Fiero and I, we're just fine!!

my young adult life, my first really nice car was a 1986 well optioned 2m4! my second was a 1985 gt black and silver with muncie 4 speed transaxle! the fiero when they were new was a gen x dream car. 1984 was the start of my senior year in high school and this new car came out, one like no other made in America, the fiero. it was the talk of high school boys and the buzz about the car was wide spread. I had to have one, now I bought my third and going to build it my way, 3800 sc, 6 speed and better brakes. my latest is a 1986 gt black sunroof car with a 5 speed . we found it sinking in the dirt covered in funk from the trees it was sitting under. the 2.8 spun a rod bearing and it was in storage for a long time indoors and then moved outside dyeing a slow death. I looked at a few but for some reason this is the one I wanted. it's engine doner riv is sitting right behind it crashed. a friend has a towing co. and he sold me the engine, he knows the man who owned the riv and I got to talk to him and he took great care of the riv, hes in his early 90s. any aid with parts locating or ideas greatly appreciated.!! thanks

Am getting a 1972 350 V8 into my '88 Fiero GT. Will the 5 speed gertrag handle it?
@zzzhuh8 жыл бұрын
+Daniel Groulx Old comment, so I can only assume you've found out... On the other hand, it depends how much torque/HP it puts out. It also depends heavily on your foot. Are you dropping the clutch for launches? I wouldn't trust a 30 year old Getrag. I'd put in a bit more work and do either an F23 or F40 for that. Just my .02
@mr.2cents.8468 жыл бұрын
+zzzhuh Well what happened is that they send my original motor to a special shop and there it got over hauled too to bottom. When I bought it, it already was bored out to 3.1 and had a turbo with phase two tuning. So I got a full new set of custom pistons, valves repaired, two track timing belt. New camshaft with more lift, other parts got newly balanced... Getting the car back in a few weeks. Will be a rocket.

I just don't get it. Fieros were mediocre cars at best, sort of like the Mercury Capri. Am I missing something? Is the platform super well vetted out and now some genuine power and performance can be extracted out of it?
@Choom-li9 жыл бұрын
+Zack Richmond The Fiero is kinda a one-of-a-kind car, so I 'd assume that's why they are so appreciated by certain car enthusiast. They are pretty susceptible to V8 swaps though. I'm looking for one of these...or a MR2

If you can compare the culture of the Fiero in any way to a Mercury Capri, there is no use in trying to have this conversation with you at all. Way off imo. If you don't like the Fiero, just move on. No need to insult it.
