Sheridan LeFanu is an Irish author who also has some fantastic atmospheric ghost/gothic stories. His "Carmilla" was a major influence for Dracula and is well worth a read.

When I was younger, I thought of these gothic paperbacks as "Guilty Pleasures". I am fortunately no longer saddled with such notions and can admit to enjoying many of them as much as anything. I'm glad that I hung onto them all these years, as they have become harder to find in the wild these days. I have at least 8 or 10 boxes full, so it would take some time looking to see if I have these particular titles, but they do look familiar. I look forward to another future discussion of Victoria Holt too (I remember you did one already). My wife also tells me I need to read Sara Paretsky, so that sounds interesting as well. Anyway, good stuff as always, Thomas.

Interesting reviews. I'm not much for this style of story but I am curious about Silverhill. There actually is a castle in NH. It's called Castle in the Clouds. I wonder if the author was using that for a setting?

Very nice video Mr. Thomas. I always enjoy watching them. They remind me of a kinda of Story Time show in the sense of Captain Kangaroo and Mr. Rogers. And I don't mean that in an offensive way. No, I remember. We had a channel out of Baton Rouge that had a local character named Buckskin Bill. And this reminds me of that show! Yes! He wore a Buckskin jacket and was soft spoken and was very informative. Yes. Thank you Mr. Thomas! -James & Bella!
