My BSA Starfire had a spider's web in the speedometer. It wouldn't indicate above forty miles an hour.

Those old English motorcycles were leking from the factory! Don’t expect them not to leak, it’s the way they were made!

The usual porosity of an old British bike is not a problem, this thing however is completely incontinent.

I think I see why Honda sold black bikes in the 60s.

They do look good in black, but this age of Norton should be silver or green. This one can stay black.

As usual British bike electrics were poor, had issues with Triumph speed twin & Tbird in 60’s fitted mags to them joe lucas alternators awful!

Norton did go back to a mag on some models. Possibly the 600ss. I'm sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.

that's the fun of running an old bike! i used to ride an old ETZ 250 mz to work when I worked on the outskirts of Manchester, it looked rough but basically it ran well, I can't ever remember it letting me down to and from work, just at the weekend I used to do any fettling, Any parts I need I used to buy online from a parts dealer in Merseyside!!! all good fun.

The rusty unicorn. It's seen better days, I keep spraying it oil to try and stop it rusting away to nothing.

Naughty Norton . Teething troubles always take time . But it's looking good . Tin primary covers are a PITA . Bash with a mallet and carry on . Bubble gum on petrol tank leak for now ? Will ruin the flavour no doubt . Needs must though . 👍

Looks like a mid 1960 engine number,if it is 92xxx
@ginner432 ай бұрын
It could well be, the bike is a bit of a bitsa.

I wondered about that as the photos i have of a model 50 in the slimline frame shows a hole in the gap between oil tank and battery box with quite a large ( 1and half inch ) gap to the carb mouth. Also had to question the front engine plates they look like they would fit a larger diam crankcase. Just hope that you can get those engine works done and get some good riding on it. Best of luck .
