My great Grandparents, Helga & Nicholi Mostad, their home remains, they rest in peace in their Mostad abandoned village of Mostad, in Lofoten Islands, Norway. My grandparents, Edgar & Ida Mostad came to USA, as small children, with many other immigrants, as they heard about the free land for home steading in America, my family are in ND, SD, Canada, and scattered around the US, I still have many family members in Norway. I'd love to visit, I've seen so many photos & videos, it's beautiful!!! I am retired, and live in NW Montana, it's beautiful here too, I'd like to visit Mostad Village, my cousins have gone, they spent the night there, they took some stunning photos!!! My grandmother and her family were from Oslo, Norway. Grandma was a Peterson, her mother an Olson, I have family books for both grandparents, they are 100% Norwegian on my mother's side. My father was not, he was Italian, English, and Irish. I am mostly Norwegian, then Italian, Irish, then small about English. Being mostly Norwegian, I grew up eating a lot of Norwegian lefse, lutefisk, ulakakga (Christmas time fruit cake) fried cookies with powdered sugar & fruit, and potatoes were used in breads, rolls, and lots of cooking. Fish, Potatoes, Puffin birds were main staples for my Norwegian ancestors, so I still eat a lot of the foods my grandmother cooked, grandmother used to bake 5 loaves of potato bread a day to feed her family of 13 children when they were young, my mother is 85, she remembers standing on a milk bucket cooking on the wood cook stove at about age 5 to help grandma in the kitchen. They farmed in North Dakota, later moved to Montana, where my immediate family live. I love my Norwegian heritage, it's what I've grown up with, I know little about my father's family, he was and only child, raised in Mississippi, and California, that his mother was Italian from Italian, father English & Irish, they were immigrants to US as children. So, I consider myself a Norwegian shy a wee bit! Love my Viking ancestors, Norway, the land of the midnight sun❣️🏞️💞💕

Meine Mama war Norwegerin und wir waren zwei Mal in ihrer Heimat auf den Lofoten. Ich wollte nie da weg, nur konnte ich es damals nicht allein entscheiden bei meiner Bestemor zu bleiben. Das Land ist wunderschön und die Leute nett und lustig. Die Sprache konnte ich von klein auf weil die Eltern es immer gesprochen haben. In diesem Leben werde ich mein Liland nicht mehr sehen.

It's my dream of living Norway. One of my friend lives in Norway with his family since last twenty years. When ever he visited here in Sri Lanka sharing his experience with me. I still remember I took him into Norwegian embassy twenty years before for an interview because at that time he has no idea about location of Norway embassy in Colombo.
