Guilty as F*CK. To attend his parent's funeral and to shed tears walking behind the coffin, was the height of duplicity and heartlessness. The maximum prison sentence in Norway is 21, but we also have something called "forvaring" where the prisoner gets checked by numerous of professionals checking you mentally with many tests and so on, to see if you're still a threat to society or yourself. if you're not fit to leave prison, you must stay a while longer, get some extra years or so.

Actual fun fact: My mother once did some charity work, while working at a flee market, set at my elementary school. One day she came home and told us she'd actually sold a sweater to Veronica Orderud. My father, witty as he is said (in Norwegian) that when Veronica tried that sweater on, my mother should have said: "Den sitter som et skudd - Eller 3"... " That phrase has no real way of being said in English, but it's akin to "it fits like a glove" - Only that the literal translation from Norwegian to English (by my father's words); "It fits like a SHOT - Or 3" Veronica wasn't yet jailed then - I nearly died from laughter, as this case was ALL OVER Norwegian media at the time 😂😂

Well done covering this case! Some nitpicking: 180 is not an emergency number, but a directory. You call 180 if you want someone’s phone number. Kristin is Veronica’s half-sister. This case is so twisted by having so many different details. For intense, Veronica have claimed the murder weapon never was in their house, but in the trail a key evidence was a visit Kristin had before Christmas 1998 at Orderud farm where Kristin claims she had brought the weapon ‘small boy’ with her. An accidental discharge happened. A bullet hit the end of table, before ricochet into the wall. This is an important evidence in the question of who is trustworthy or not. While Kristin had a shady background compared to Veronica, she was very straight forward and honest. I believe that Kristin/Lars killed them as an order from Veronica/Per, but Kristin’s honesty ‘paid off’ by getting a lower sentence, while Veronica/Per lack of honesty backfired at themselves.

Per Orderud bought the farm, including buildings, land and agricultural land, for NOK 2.9 million in October 2004. He himself was denied the right to inherit from his parents, and therefore had to pay to gain ownership of the farm. After serving 15 years, he moved back home and as of 2018 lived in the main house. Tore Sandberg announced on 2 May 2017 that he, together with the Orderud couple's lawyer Frode Sulland, had requested that the triple murder case be reopened. Together with Per and Veronica Orderud, Tore Sandberg submitted the application to have the case reassessed on 22 June 2018. The application was more than 1,000 pages long, and was supposed to highlight, among other things, a number of points which, in whole or in part, allegedly meant that previous evidence had to be discarded. The Re-admission Commission announced on 17 June 2024 that it had decided that the case should not be re-opened.

A kilo of dynamite?!? I don't know anything about explosives but that's like, a lot, right? Man... 😳
@Smulenify
@Smulenify 2 ай бұрын
It was half a kilo, which is definitely enough to kill everyone in a car, and possibly people nearby. The dynamite used had been stolen from a building site the year before, the guy had literally just picked it up from a truckbed. He kept the dynamite in his kitchen drawer, and gave it away to people. In Norway at the time, about 150 kilo of dynamite went missing each year. The dynamite taped to the underside of the car had no igniter attached, so there wasn't really a risk of it going off. Might be one of the many reasons the police didn't take it very seriously, and completely failed at preventing the murders.

Why would you sell the farm to your son when he has helped all his adult life. I don't understand some parents who see everything as a transaction, even family life. I find that deeply shocking. I wonder about that too. Perhaps if the intention was to split the farm after the parents death and made known to both of the siblings would be ideal from the beginning, one will have to buy the other one out if they want to sell it. I meant the parents are already in their golden years by this time why selling it to your children, shouldn't they inherit the farm after the parents passed on? The son has been working at the farm all his life, surely he deserves something not that killing his family is justifiable but I do want to know more on the son side of story... My family has a farm , I understand how difficult it is to manage one, and now that responsibility fell on my brother - the only son .

I read what Veronica is saying now and to me it feels like she was all behind it. "In my head, I should be the strong one, who rather directs others. That is probably why I enjoy my job at Nav so much, she explains." this is how she explain being cold in media. She works in social help institution as some top leader what is sick since she was accused of leading to murders. Her step sister had no motiv. I can believe that her husband Per is innocent and all manipulative actions about heritage of the farm he could do because of her influence on him. Probably alone he would not do so much. She can be femme fatale and those sisters have not spoke since and she tells she can't forgive her. Propably that her sister put blame on her. Well her sister had no motiv, so she was just helping her with boyfriend and she must got something promise for doing that. Per is naive but not innocent. Her step sister would not do this out of nowhere.

I have another theory as to who may have done the killing. It could have been someone brought up in a military man supported family who had been stalking their daughter at the time while he was feeling rejected after he had been for years prior to that hoping to some day take over the family farm some day instead. He started shooting. Then the head of the Orderud family upon hearing the first shot had grabbed his gun and then had tried to defend his family. Since children tend to be such deep sleepers they may have only woken up briefly after the shots while wondering why they had awakened before then falling back asleep again. From there whoever did the murders started spreading gossip only lies in town about what had really happened. Which some people were reporting to police. Cristin''s boyfriend LArs may have been the only person at fault instead of Per and Veronica. A tragedy after Cristin made the mistake of confiding in him about how stern and authoritarian minded her father was.

Também acredito que todos são culpados e que Kristen e Lars são os assassinos, também acho que a investigação devia ser revisada. Paz a estas pessoas , terrível o que aconteceu.

Okay yes I believe that they're all guilty. What did the police try to find out which one of them actually went to Norway to commit murder? There has to be evidence of flights and who actually flew to Norway, or did they even look.

I think they are all guilty and should be in prison for life Probably also guilty of the threats and previous murder attempts And he was guilty of trying to take the farm by dishonest methods That was the motive. Greed

Ok I am going to go against the grain here and ask why did the father not will the land to his son who has worked all his life on it and probably for a pittance and still include the daughter in the will when she was living a life well away from the daily hardship of working on a farm....still doesn't justify murder but tbh it was an unjust set up in the first place, selling your son that stayed and worked the farm ffs.
