I have to give a correction with the NSB Class 1. it was NOT Norway’s first locomotive. It was likely the NSB’s first locomotive, but NSB was founded in the 1880s, while the first Norwegian railway, in general, was much older. NSB isn’t the first railroad company in Norway. NHJ, on the other hand, is. I’ve searched online, and found that there were in fact Norwegian locomotives older than the NSB Class 1. For example, the NHJ litra A. It was built in 1851, ten years before the NSB Class 1. So the NSB Class 1 was likely the first locomotive of the NSB, but not the first Norwegian locomotive, in general.
