I'm inspired to learn Norwegian because my favorite artists is Aurora (she's a Norwegian singer. Her songs are in English) and also listening to Wardruna. I am learning french currently and I'm no where near fluent. I don't even think I'm intermediate (I know basic stuff and some verb conjugations also). I know I should probably finish learning french first but I want to also learn Norwegian so badly, lol. I'm just going to do both and see how it goes. EDIT: Currently am not learning French anymore, wasn't feeling it really. I kind of gave up on learning Norwegian but some day I'm gonna get back into it for sure.

Re Norwegian - for me it is so easy to learn, and I started learning Norwegian about 5 days ago, and I can already understand over 80% of what is said in Norwegian in videos with only the Norwegian sub, and I must have memorized over two thousand words since I started! I’ve also been learning Dutch and Swedish for over one month, and I am now close to advanced level in Dutch and intermediate level in Swedish - Dutch and Swedish are also extremely easy to learn, esp if one is an English speaker, and Norwegian is even easier than Dutch when it comes to sentence structure, because the sentence structure is very flexible in Norwegian, and it is very similar to English! I usually try to prioritize at least two Germanic languages and at least one Latin language until I become fluent enough in those languages, as I have about 30 languages on my list that I want to learn and become fluent in - technically, I selected every language that is pretty-sounding and that has pretty words, and every Germanic language that I know of is on my list, and so far German itself seems to be the most difficult of all Germanic languages (mostly because of the spelling) but, luckily I already know over one thousand words in German because I learned song lyrics in the past and I also know a lot of food related terms and other nouns, and this will probably make it easier when I start learning German, and becoming fluent in Norwegian and Swedish and Dutch first will definitely help learning German faster!

It gives me a lot of confidence in learning it, I also has to learn some Japanese while I was in Japan so I could get around and it gave me a good ground wotk for what is important first and I cannot recommend learning pronounciation first, learn the alphabet, memorize it and know it by heart because it makes learning words THAT much easier. Norwegian is a bit easier, not only because of the grammar but also because of the pronunciation. While Norwegian is a north germanic language, german is a west germanic language and a little harsh in the pronunciation. Plus german grammar can be very confusing, i grew up in Germany so i‘m a native speaker and i can tell u, even germans get confused sometimes hahahah. Good luck studying in Norway, i wanna do the same!!

@@instag.s0fie745 I heard that Norwegian has musical pronunciation (like Chinese, for example) so I guess that's a difficulty too

English and German are both West Germanic and Norwegian is North Germanic. However I found that Norwegian is much much easier to learn as an English speaker. Maybe because England has had many scandinavian immigrants and also England used to be ruled by the vikings so there are many cognates. Not only is the vocabulary easier in Norwegian than in German for an English speaker but also Norwegian grammer is much easier to learn too. Norsk er ikke veldig vanskelig å lære hvis du snakker Engelsk :)

Jeg er glad i Norsk språket. Norwegian is beautiful. I'm glad Duolingo exists because it's been a big help and aside from that, I saw two Norwegian movies on Netflix (Elling and it's prequel and the 2022 movie Blasted ) and I'm on season 1 of Occupied. Funny enough, it's easier to understand the movies than to understand the show Occupied haha
