I used the transcript from your reading for my son's cultural heritage day today. Thank you so much for this! I read it in Norwegian and then did the translation over Zoom. Your lessons are so helpful to me.

You should do more Norwegian story readings. But you should show the book while you're reading it so we can see pictures and read along in Norwegian. :-) ♥

This is so cool because I actually have an intermediate norwegian book with this story in it but it is very slightly different. Like in your version it says "sa trollet" but mine says "screk trollet". 95% the same but some words are different but I could still read along just fine. Thank you Karin! :)

I enjoyed your reading of the story at a speed that was not so fast that I couldn't understand the words, yet is was fast enough to make me work at listening to the language spoken in real time. I enjoyed the song you sang as well, the song seemed to make it easier to remember the words. Thank you so much!

That was a very beautiful story! Thank you so much for sharing it! The subtitles work perfectly well and you are a very gifted storyteller. I would also like to thank you so much for all your Norwegian lessons. Norwegian is a very melodic language. Thanks to your lessons, I improved my vocabulary in Norwegian and I sincerely hope to improve it even further in the near future with other lessons of yours! Keep up the good work, plenty of health, and many blessings! Much gratitude once again! Godt nytt år! 🙂

I remember this story! ^_^ I didn't know it was Norwegian though, and I thought the troll gobbled the first two up and the third goat rescued them from his belly... Ah, well... it's been over 20 years since first I heard it, and I like your version better!

@lambache 5 жыл бұрын
there's two stories about goats, as far as I'm aware - one where a where a wolf eats a bunch of goats and then one goat rescues them, and the other is about Three Billy Goats Gruff, where they tried to cross the river.

I've noticed it... trolls in different stories in the Scandinavian countries. Why is that? Is there something I'm missing or not getting? Why so many trolls in your stories over there? Well, I only know one other story besides this one that you told. Or at least different iterations of it. But why so many trolls?

Both English subtitles contain mistakes. The 1st 'English' option is based on the google translation(?) of the original Norwegian text subtitles. The last English option is based on audio, and makes an auto-generated speech-to-text rough translation. So, having 'Norwegian' subtitles is pretty much the only legible option. Maybe it could have a 4-th option of English subs, humanly translated correctly by Karin. But okay, I know this takes a lot of time to prepare. But anyway thx for sharing the correct Norsk subtitles, please put them again in other story videos. They're very helpful to get the gist of the story!
