Norwegian wooden sailing boat: The "gavl boat" Notmann, June 2013

Notmann is a Norwegian gaff rigged "gavl boat" (gavlbåt) earlier used for net and seine fishing on the west coast of Norway. It has its port in Bekkjarvik, Austevoll, on the islands southwest of Bergen. Notmann has an open klinker-built hull and is gaff rigged with jib, fore sail, main sail and top sail. Notmann is ovned by "Austevoll kyst og sogelag".

Det er ca. 500 kg med blylbarrer som bæres ombord og legges under tiljene oppå kjølen i en større del av båtens lengde, før hver sesong. Disse fjernes før båten tas på land og inn i et naust om vinteren.
