I've been buying vintage West German stuff this year, mostly new old stock. The pliers I got were just £3 or thereabouts on ebay, Kay Tools, new old stock, and the handles look like the ones on your Saltus cutters, and the quality is as good. Like you I asked myself who this company was, and couldn't find any reference to them online. I know Draper used to manufacture in West Germany too, I have a nice set of spanners, and a Draper-Schroeder hand drill too.

Sounds great! To me it is a cheap way to get great tools. And a lot of companies are slacking a bit, so their products might be of lesser quality if bought new. Regards, Etna.

Is that true, German acetate handles will not smell bad over time if/when they start deteriorating? cellulose acetate butyrate is the material that will deteriorate and smell bad. Are German acetate handles made from a different material?

I don't own any American brand of acetate but I do own PB Swiss screwdrivers. In comparison to German brands, it seems to be a different kind of acetate. I am no chemist to tell them apart. I came across deterioration screwdrivers. Some were even melting. But I couldn't find any bad smelling handles despite its age. Regards, Etna.

Awesome tools 👍. And yes my first thought was that green driver looks just like a PB Swiss Pozidriv 🤌

I am not a fan of PB Swiss, honestly... Even though I have a few tools from them. And that shown handle type is fairly common by many manufacturers. Mostly I see them from the far east. Regards, Etna.
