I actually walked out of the theater last night and I have NEVER done that in my 46 years. Hoult was wonderful but that was it. The set was gorgeous and so were the costumes but the lighting was such that you couldn’t see the sets. It was horrible.

I’m sorry you had that experience. I feel like it was fine to see in my theater but it is a dark movie lighting wise for sure. Thanks for watching and commenting 🙏🏾

Lots of great points in your video. I thought the film was a very impressive film on many levels but it was the writing that fell flat for me. I wouldn't hang Rose Depp's lack of heart on anything other than bad writing. Who was she? Hoult at least got to play a man desperate to make his mark, and impress his wife, a very human and relatable circumstance. But what did Rose Depp have to play? A clingy sick woman who started having sex with a vampire as a child? What is that, is that human, is that relatable to anyone? The reality is that the screenplay was pretty flat, Hoult and Depp are together for about 3 mins of screen time and then he's off on his trip. By the time he is racing against the sun rise I couldn't careless about either of them. The photography and set design were all amazing though. I would watch it again just for those aspects.

Super valid. Didn’t even think about the lil time we had with Hoult and Depp on screen together that would’ve added a lot more tension and emotional connection for the ending for sure. Thanks for watching and commenting 🙏🏾
