By good fortune I contacted the author and he provided the following information... :-) Nansi Richards was a world famous harpist. When I was young, and she was old, we were great friends. The reference to “She is here and across the world” - refers to the time she spent in America playing the harp when she was young. The song is a tribute to her youthful spirit. I spent many hours with her in her home and there are several references to her home - she was a bit of a hoarder - and not very house proud! References to “grasshoppers” - means that she would jump from one thing to another when in conversation. “Jumping from the blue slate floors to the mansions of the rich” - means that she would play the harp in humble cottages as well as before Kings and Presidents. The tune for this song was composed by Sian James a well-known folk musician who lives near me. (You can find her music on You Tube). The vocal arrangements are by Linda Gittins, who has worked with me and the late Derec Williams for 40 years with our musical theatre company - Cwmni Theatr Maldwyn. “Melangell” is a reference to a folk tale - she was a saint who showed great care for wildlife around the 7th/8th Century - again in our area. She is here on the harp strings of our memories where her melodies are alive calling us from the past from the parlour of her childhood, poking a melody from the embers of the fire leading us to the future her youthful spirit calls to us and Nansi will be Nansi for us all. Chorus She is here and across the world She is everywhere but the grave She is the gipsy of our Saturdays the Melangell of our music She is here in the cupboards of our minds by blowing a layer of dust from the shelves of our memories the grasshopper comes to us jumping easily from the blue slate floors to the mansions of the rich her youthful spirit calls to us and Nansi will be Nansi for us all. She is here in the history of our community her talents claim the dawn every yesterday and today her harp is a part of our land her voice is our inheritance through the muse of her colourful coat her youthful spirit calls to us and Nansi will be Nansi for us all. @@moose99moose You're welcome. The funny thing is, I'm not Welsh! I have just developed an affection for the country and culture, primarily by watching Dechrau Canu... I'm not religious either, odd isn't it! It was cemented by a very special holiday at Porthmadog. Dymuniadau gorau.

It’s all about her, not the group. She’s a nasty piece, the others should also have a voice. Mummy and Daddy have shoved her into the limelight. Well done them. She is vile and that’s their fault.
