Love these old guys who have been working on race cars their whole lives and know how to tune these Nitro's. Drag racing is just so fucking cool

They’ve always looked cool. But considering Don Garlits ended up designing his first rear engine dragster in the hospital after losing half of his foot, the idea of resting my nuts on top of the differential of 7000 hp slingshot dragster, with my feet sitting on either side of the clutch and bell housing isn’t my idea of fun. I’ll watch them all day, but you’d never get me in the cockpit.😅

Sorokins car sounds amazing not to mention it's the best looking dragster around.

It definitely has a unique sound being a small block Chevy! It’s very quick to the 1/8th but doesn’t mph like the Hemi cars. Have watched the car many times at Famoso in Bakersfield.

Nice but very dangerous cars, remember Don Garlits's accident? It's why he developed the rear engine concept.
@alleyoop12342 ай бұрын
There has been over 50 years of safety development since that day though. But yes anything that runs on Nitro is dangerous!

These nostalgia Top Fuelers are way cooler than the nostalgia funny cars.... I don't get why the dragster spec fuel pump is 20 gallons vs the funny car pump at 21 gallons ? One gallon difference?!! Seems silly. Some typical stupid nhra thinking.They should both be 21 gallons.
@danmyers93722 ай бұрын
@@ScottCole-sb8fy- And the FC’s run a much bigger tire and can run two speeds. The TF cars have to rev too high due to the short tire and gear limitation. Makes it really hard on parts and results in a lot of race delays due to oil downs.

There's a reason Don Garlits came up with the rear engine dragster!......🤦 (Oy Vey!!)
