Shakamon is above the Digimon Sovereigns with their servants, the Digimon Deva. On top of that, Shakamon is the being closest to King Drasil.

Just a thought, but would Shakamon's powers work on someone who loves to fight more than anything? A being who fights for sport, to better themselves or any other reason theoretically could overcome the illusions & fight him head on. There's also the concept of evil enlightenment, where the enlightened person becomes even more evil, because that's who they truly are.

I sometimes wonder if Mercurymon would be able to pass Shakamon's trials. It possesses the wisdom of AncientWisemon and could potentially have access to the Akashic Records, which hold all the knowledge of the Digital world. Meaning Mercurymon would know exactly how to pass the trials of Shakamon. Now I'm imagining a Mercurymon version of Shakamon, similar to Shadow Seraphimon.

The Devas are all based on the Chinese Zodiac, or at least the official global version of the Chinese Zodiac wheel; there are actually cultural variants in different countries for some of the animals in the Zodiac wheel. For example, in Vietnam, the Rabbit is replaced with the Cat (some sources I encountered said it was the Rat replaced with the Cat), and some of the stories involving the Tiger of the Zodiac wheel replace it with a Lion (the English dub of Tamers even had them say Lion instead of Tiger when discussing the Devas and their forms in one episode). So that has me wondering if there are truly only 12 Devas; what if there are additional Devas that act as backup/auxiliary that are based on the cultural variants for each of the "official" animals of the Chinese Zodiac? And that also has me wondering if there is an equivalent of the Devas for the Greek Zodiac; Saggitarimon is a confirmed Digimon, and it draws on the figure Saggitarius for its inspiration. Now, Saggitarimon is classified as an Armor Level Digimon, but it is also described as being a potential mutation among Centauramon. But that still begs the question of where the other 11 Digimon based on the Greek Zodiac are, and chances are they are all Armor Level Digimon, like Saggitarimon, but what Digimon need to evolve the same way as Saggitarimon to get those other 11 Digimon based on the Greek Zodiac? And what is the official name for these Digimon based on the Zodiac? Since the Digimon based on the Chinese Zodiac are called the Devas, what would all the Digimon based on the Greek Zodiac be called?

I don't know how to respond every digimon that could mutate to Zodiacs, but your comment inspired me to write my ideas. They could be called Daemons(a term used for lesser entities) and work as personal servants/attendants of each of the members of the Olympos XII. •Aries is Chrysomallus, a flying golden ram sacrificed to the gods, he's golden fleece(later sought by the Argonauts) placed in the grove of Ares. Ariesmon would serve Marsmon. •Taurus as Europa. She was abducted by Zeus in bull form and turned 1° queen of Crete and mother of Minos, she received 4 gifts of Zeus made by Hephaestus. Her design basically being a female Minotaur with the necklace gift. Taurusmon would serve Vulcanusmon, with her abilities based on her 3 other gifts: the giant bronze automaton guard Talos, the hound Laelaps and a javelin that never misses. •Gemini are the Dioscuri, the twin half-brothers Castor and Pollux. Pollux shared he's immortality with Castor, making them twin gods. They were patrons of sailors and associated with horsemanship, which would make Geminimon fit perfectly as servants of Neptunemon.(also unique because they would be 2 digimon in 1) •Cancer is Carcinos, a giant crab sent by Hera to assist the Hydra of Lerna against Herakles/Hercules. Cancermon would serve Junomon, she could be female and have Hydra based abilities. •Leo is the Nemean Lion that Hercules killed in he's first labour. He would be a mutation of Leomon inspired by Herakles using he's pelt(named HerculesLeomon). He would serve Apollomon , with skills based on the lion's durable golden fur and claws sharper than swords. •Virgo is Persephone, daughter of Demeter with Zeus and Hade's wife, she's goddess of spring and the underworld. Virgomon would add conflict: Persephone spends half a year in Olympus and half in the Underworld, this would be represented by her having 2 forms, Spring Virgomon and Hades Virgomon, serving Ceresmon(in Spring and Summer)and Plutomon(in Autumn and Winter) respectively. •Libra is Themis, the goddess of Justice and Law. One of the 12 titans, she became resident of Olympus and the 2° wife of Zeus. Libramon would serve Merukimon. •Scorpio is Orion. He was a great hunter who was killed by a giant scorpion that Gaea birthed and sent to kill him for he's hubris. Scorpiomon would serve Dianamon, with abilities based on Orion's hunter skills and the scorpius poisonous tail. •Sagittarimon could represent Chiron, a centaur god and wise teacher of heroes, helping Minervamon. •Capricorn is Pan, a goat god of the wild associated with fertility, sephards and rustic music. Caprimon/Capricormon would serve Bacchusmon, with music abilities and a herd of satyr based digimon. •Aquarius is Ganymede, a boy turned immortal cupbearer of the gods and/or personal cupbearer of Zeus who became he's lover, even being considered by Hera as her rival for Zeus affection. Aquarimon would serve Jupitermon, with healing, buffing and water attacks using he's cup and summon Aquila(Eagle of Zeus that abducted Ganymede to Olympus) •Pisces is Cupid, who turned into a fish with he's mother Aphrodite when escaping Typhon's invasion. Piscesmon(or PiscesKyubimon) would be a water themed mutation of Kyubimon serving Venusmon.

I read somewhere that shakamon as 0 malice in its attacks. So in theory he is the only digimon who can defeat the Super demonlord fusion of all demonlords. This is because according to the wiki any attack with even a bit of melice will not work against the Super Demonlord fusion.

Pokemon has Sun Wukong and Zhu Bajie mons as starters in different regions. It kind of drives me a bit nuts since they don't have Sha Wujing, who could be a great water type, and since Zhu is a Fire Type instead of Grass it throws off the type advantage. He uses a rake as a weapon and was a farmer. He's begging to be a Grass Type.

Digimon have two characters based in Sha Wujing, Shawujinmon and Sagomon, one uses the Chinese name (Sha Wujing) and other uses the Japanese name (Sa Gojou). This makes me wonder if there are three another Digimon using the Chinese names for the other member of the group. Sanzomon (Genjo Sanzo) - "Tangmon" (Tang Sanzang) Gokuwmon (Son Goku) - "SunWumon" (Sun Wukong) Cho-Hakkaimon (Cho Hakkai) - "ZhuBajimon" (Zhu Bajie) There's also Gumdramon, in the game Digimon New Century, in a part of the story some characters are discussing the Journey to the West Digimon, in this conversation one of them wonder if Gumdramon could be the 5th member of the group, the "White Dragon Horse" (Bai Long Ma or Yu Long). If they ever made a "proper" Mega Form for Gumdramon one day I hope they connect it to the Journey to the West Digimon, after all even in the Xros Wars anime, Gumdramon is shown to have some relation to the group.

UM! there is one thing who nobody pointed until know too. -represent Buda, the buddism, the teachings and most of the attacks are indirect/illusion types. -has long hair -has golden all over -"closest to Ygdrassil" -is called Shaka Dude... this scream Virgo Shaka from Saint Seiya ALL OVER. HECK! look at how the helm is design and it looks really close to the same helm the Virgo cloth has with and almost same shaped head piece.

At this point I would be more surprised that someone doesn't know the Journey to The West and its characters. Few people may have read the story but media and the internet has made sure that everyone is familiar with it. Son Wukong is actually four times immortal with one being through taoist enlightenment, one through that cauldron, one through the peaches, and one through the golden pills, and on top of that you have to find a way to kill him 72 times, one for each transformation, but before you do any of that you have to find a way to put his name back in the book of names so that he can go to the afterlife and stay there. At that point buddhahood was the only possible end point for the monkey. I think Sanzomon is also based off the Buddhavista that Son Wukong occasionally goes to for help and is pretty much the one in charge in keeping the monkey king in line aside from the monk of course.
