She loves her kids and wants the best for them and also wants to support her husband the best way she can. They live in the ghetto, they are feeding a family of 5 on a budget for 3, and they are doing the best they can to navigate an extremely prejudiced world. Her approach is flawed, but she does care for and love her family and takes care of them well all things considered. Chris being put with that burden of being the oldest in this type of family is something that happens a lot, but Rochelle wanted the best for him and tried to make sure he made something of himself. Y’all act like she is Troy from Fences when she doesn’t do anything like trying to purposefully hold someone back because of envy, jealousy, or hate
