Apologies for the artefacting... been having some issues with Corel VideoStudio

I don't know how to direct message somebody on KZbin so hopefully this will reach you.add little 8-bit graphic of Indiana Jones running from villagers here carrying something large and strange looking. i found something weird old Brown heavy and eBay has failed me! Cording to eBay it doesn't exist. a Techtran ndustries inc 950 micro disc .referring to this unit as a micro disc is laughable the thing is the size of a breadbox and I can barely lift it. It's a floppy disk drive that much I do know it has switches all over it one on the front three more on the back and a rotary dial switch apparently it was made in the USA I'm looking at I'd say roughly the 1970s given its design you could literally bludgeon somebody to death with this thing with no problem and do Avelino damage to it. I'm looking for some information on the unit to better allow me to list it on eBay kind of what I do is selling vintage technology anything from record players computers radios videogame systems basically if it's electrical and old I've probably listed one on eBay more commonly I end up with weird computer stuff but I've never come across anything that I could easy list and identify. I've got a bizarre little portable television/VCR LCD briefcase unit that I've been meaning to bring to your attention that might be of interest given the kind of videos that you do. If you can imagine something the size of a briefcase with the words LCD on it and it's a VCR with a flip up screen that is barely able to be lifted. Again that unit is from the mid-80s so it makes me question how it's LCD on a top load VCR lol.if you can help me out with listing this disk drive that would be appreciated maybe you know somebody that can use it more or less it looks to be an old 8088 disk drive for a IBM mounted in a July Norma's case but I want to make sure I list it properly. You'd be surprised how many times I've help somebody track down some piece of weird hardware from the 1970s that were over in Germany or something like that restoring some old machine. Thank you for your time.

@billyjbryant4 жыл бұрын
The tv is the stock Sony Bravia 22BX300 which is just a 22" 720p TV with a very basic stand integrated. The PS2 components were most likely from the SCPH-9000x release (2008) which is the release of the PS2 Slim that disabled the "Boot from Memory Card" exploit. As all they needed to do was re-tool the casing for the playstation a bit and run soldered in cables up the "stalk" of the base, I'm pretty sure this was just an easy way to get rid of stock without having to fully design a new tv casing and support system. Frugal and convenient. The fact that the PS2 doesn't even turn on at the same time as the TV indicates that their circuitry is 100% isolated thus all they really did was slam a ps2 in the base of the tv and run cables from one mainboard to the other, oh and a software switch for PS2 power so it could be turned on by the remote ;)

And, they didn't want a helluva lot for it. The I.R. fob was a little annoying for use on the first generation. Subsequent generations connectivity was flawless, and less obtrusive. I actually was surprised to find that it worked so well, considering that I didn't realize the PS2 2nd Gen Slim had that I.R. "built-in" Great video. This PS2-TV unit is wonderful. And the Duke Nukem game too, I had the poster on my wall as a kid from one of the PlayStation magazines!

I almost want to get this TV and then remove the PS2 and install the very first model PS3 with full backward compatibly. Would be awesome! BluRay, Wireless Controllers, PS3 Games!

Very interesting review! Re: HDMI ports - Sony TVs today still have a LOT of HDMI inputs compared to other manufacturers, and I have friends who actually purchased a Sony TV recently for that exact reason.

wow this was so cool. I remember that my brother and I hyped when we saw this PS2tv for the first time... And then cried because this beautiful piece of nostalgia never reached Argentina. It looks gorgeous! I envy you man hahahaha

WOw. I saw one of those at Richer Sounds Newcaslte in late december 2010, while playing a gig nearby at the Carling Academy. It puzzled me, as I was (and am) into gaming and never knew hat existed. I did think about buying it on the spot, but I was too excited and shortsighted by GT5 on PS3 to part up with the 230 quid asking price. Nice to randomly find closure to that mistery! Thanks!

I'd love to tear out the guts of this and replace it with an NTSC PS2. Not sure how I'd make the TV run at 60 hertz, though...

this would be a perfect first console setup for a kid these days. I was on my brothers' old n64 when they got the Xbox and PS2. Didnt care a bit when i was 8 years old though i was so glad to have a game console.

Is pixelation an issue on this? (I would presume so being an early digital tv, but then it was made by Sony specifically with the ps2, so perhaps not?)

I'm looking forward to gloss black plastic finish going out of style again. Shows up every bit of dust in the room. Matt black plastic with some texture is the way to go IMO.

So cool that you have one of these! I love the TV and game console combination systems. In an ideal world where money wasn't an issue, I'd have one of each in my game room lol. I own the NES version though. Great video! I love when you cover more obscure items like these.

You know what? I really want one. I live in the US, and want a TV that would accept both NTSC and PAL, and de-interlace them quickly. This TV seems to be BUILT for that. Damn I jelly.

Seeing you cover sixth-gen hardware makes me miss my other consoles. Used to have quite a lot, back then. But after being hit with financial struggles, I'm just down to my 3DS and Mega Drive. Hoping to get a Nintendo Switch after I graduate from college.

I had a crt with a dvd player built into it when I was around 4-6 years old. I even had a VHS. Bear in mind I was born in 2001. LCD tvs where out in those times. It was awesome having a VHS. I might have to get one for nostalgia reasons

I have one of these, it’s currently plugged into my laptop as a second monitor when video editing, being only £200 and a smart tv and having a stack of PS2 games laying about it would have been stupid not to get it!! The quality of the tv is still very good despite only being 720p
