I'm realizing with more nostalgic videos that I'm noticeably older than I thought lol. So many of these are from games I played when I was a bit older. Surprisingly, even the songs I heard as an adult have started to turn nostalgic as I continue to work on mixes. I didn't expect to expound on my mental experience of video game music from this video either lol

The DS came out when I was in high school, and the Wii the year after I graduated. I found it a bit comical to see this music pop up as nostalgic. Normally you see Gen Y with NES/SNES/N64 music videos. No less pleasing the next generation enjoying their own "moments" Time marches on Lads

I don't think there's a better feeling in this world than spending 1.5 hours working on a 3D art project while listening to my favourite nintendo songs the entire time only to finish the last part of the project, zoom out and take a look at the work just as the video plays one of the best credits songs of all time and fades to black with the project fully completed within the span of the video. totally unintentional and felt poetic.

It's incredible how these games had an unique musical identity that made them so easy to tell them apart from each other, even if they're from the same franchise. Like, if you pick 9:50 you KNOW it's a Mystery Dungeon game, then you go 50:10 and it's completely different since it's a main pokémon game but STILL pokémon.

New Super Mario Bros was the first Mario game I ever played, I got it for Christmas 2008 and it was the first DS game that I actually enjoyed (Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Blue Rescue Team is the game I got bundled with my DS lite and I always hated it). I got hooked instantly and I still love the game to this day, it's good.

I really miss this soundtrack from my childhood, to this day I play this music to work and remember how happy I was coming home from school and waiting for dinner while doing my homework in animal crossing or earning a couple of medals in Pokemon. Super Mario 64’s Staff Roll at the end is a perfect touch! I miss my Wii and DS so bad. Almost every weekend when I was a kid me and my family would sit down together and play the Mario games. We had these other ones I faintly remember, of some hunting game, that also had a Wii controller extension that looked like a gun which was really cool to me as a kid. I also remember first getting my DS when I was pretty young too. My brother had gotten a PSP for his birthday, and I was taken to get one too, but they had come out with the DSi XL at the time which I've never seen any type of DS before. So I got that one instead and I absolutely loved it. Good times
