I remember Nokia phones were pretty much the standard in the west in the late 90s and early 00s. Almost everyone had one. Not sure if they were also big in Japan

In Japan, Nokia wasn't used much. Some people had it as a 'fashion mobile phone.' At that time, Japanese manufacturers were still strong, so brands like NEC, Panasonic, Sharp, and Fujitsu were more commonly used!

I was a 90s kid so I remember it all 😊! Actually, I found my sister's old furby a few years back, I replaced the batteries & got it to work, but it freaked my nephew out 😂 & was all dusty, so we threw it out. A lot of animes too, DBZ, Pokemon, Sailor Moon, Gundam, etc. they started showing these on TV in the mid to late 90s on like the main channel for cartoons, they showed them on TV right after school let out, huge Japanese influence in the US. I still remember trying to turn Super Saiyan in my room 😅 going crazy during episodes of Dragon Ball Z lol. In the US we just go by decades, I dont believe we have these eras, I've always wondered how different countries perceive each decade or era the way that we do so thanks for answering it indirectly :)
