So sorry you had to go through this. I bought R7000 2 weeks ago and it's been giving me disconnection issues from day 1. Netgear guys tried all the trouble shooting and even replaced it 2 times but the new one also has the same damn issue. So pissed off and don't know what to do further.

About to return mine after 1 day. Disconnecting LAN connection (mid game on playstation) multiple times in less than 24 hours. Old, weaker router I called myself upgrading never did this once.

I know this video is old, but this only happens like 10% of the time and probably less than that. This is a really nice router. I went through so many router until I went with the Netgear Nighthawk and all have been working great for many years. I have one at home the AC1900, bought another one for business AC2100. Never even once I have drop connection or problem. You should have return it and get a new one.

To reset the router you need to hold the reset for about 15 seconds. This does not explain why suddenly you will be blocked out of your router .

Mine worked fine for about six moths. I got an email from NETGEAR saying that I needed to update FIRMWARE. I tried to access the router and could not get in. It will not accept the password or the security questions. I tried to reset and it will not reset. I called NETGEAR and they said in order for them to help I needed to purchase a yearly service program. My router works but I have no access to it and you can not reset it.

They are junk, I have the same exact model and version of this router, it works great until it reaches a certain point, then it will lose all internet connectivity from the router. If I try to log into the router, it's very slow, then if I reboot it, everything works fine again. My older ASUS router works flawlessly, it can go an entire year without a reboot. ASUS also updates their firmware constantly, the Nighthawk rarely. The cheaper ASUS router has better features too, it also cost half the price.

Omg, hell anything man made can go bad and after 3 days it's covered under warranty, shit happens, you'll be ok. Night Hawks are good routers

@sbjkd still on my Nighthawk, tried the band steering mode, works great, tried Linksys and tplink and both of them put streaming devices on 2.4ghz, my Nighthawk puts everything on 5g unless my device is unable to see it.

MY R9000P hasn't missed a beat..97mbps Ethernet and WiFi 5GHZ. That must be a dud or the settings are causing a confict within the house..WiFi channel? Just unlucky I suppose.

Had nothing but great response out of ours we have several I’ve gotten them for other family members even but setting them up is key also spectrum will update which can cause issues with routers which you have to reset and set back up also I use an ARRIS routers which is what spectrum and Xfinity use for their equipment but sometimes you get a bad router it happens especially from Amazon happens in all electronics

Just bought one and it’s horrendous it says it can hold up to 30 devices but we have 8 on and it won’t even connect to the Xbox...false advertisement and I am definitely returning this...agree won’t eh rant 100%

This router is a complete failure, the last Firmware update crippled it just like he indicated and hopefully yours does not automatically update or you'll experience the same issues. I went to purchase this same router from Best Buy and the sales tech steered immediately steered me away from this model and confirmed there are major issues with it but indicated that the Netgear R7000 AC1900 has had zero issues.
