Brilliant, thanks man !

You got this man! My (unpopular) opinion is that, most of the time, concrete examples only serve to limit people's imaginations, or they judge the validity of the technique based on the music or sound or taste of the demonstrator. I like communicating 'concept' and leaving 'execution' to the creative people in the audience :-)

Just the whole "Kush After Hours" and 70s bow chicka wow wow makes me laugh hard xD I love splicing/glitching throws. The first thing I did with the LPX 10.5 Quick Sampler was one of those, with an automated delay increasing in feedback (Valhalla FreqEcho, get on that, it's free) on the lead vocal that blurs it into this saturated harmonic build about 1 bar before the main lead comes through. There's actually this really cool effect that happens when you automate the delay time too. It's just good ol' sound design fun. I uh, had a long break between producing/mixing regularly. Between 2005 and 2014, I was doing lots of production/sound design stuff, but it kinda died on me (as did my last Mac in 2018), so I didn't pick it back up until late last year. I'm relearning everything, but having KZbin as a resource now is almost negating all of my past music/audio tech studies, ha! Thank you for your videos!

I just finished automating the reverb send on an otherwise generic synth lead and it allowed it to be doused during each note without it adding mud to the mix because the reverb was basically getting ducked between each note. The end result made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. “How can this lead sound so wide and open without blowing the mix apart?” Good stuff!

If you ever have the time, and it sounds interesting to make, I'd love to see you do an effect specific series on how you would recommend using basic audio effects. Sort of a tips and tricks video series, but more focused on how a pro-engineer/composer should be thinking about effects. E.g. the first video could be something like; what are the types of reverbs, how are they intended to be used, what tips you have for effective use, any cool abnormal uses of reverb you're aware of, and what are common mistakes you see people making when using reverbs, and how do we avoid them? I'd like to see this for like.... all the stock effects which come with most DAWs (Specifically Live 11 for me), Delay, Panning ETC. I'd also reeeeally love to see a video on your default effects racks. The stuff you use ALL the time. Your advice has seriously helped my production and mastering game over the last year. Like more than anything else from one person has, ever. You've explained concepts in seconds I've struggled to grasp for well over a decade. So thank you very, very much.
