This has been going on for years, nothing to do with flu. In Wales where Labour has been in charge for over 24 years, the waiting list for an ambulance is 14 hours if you are lucky, when you get to the hospital ,you are kept in the ambulance for at least two days, if you arrive by car you can wait in A &E for over 90 hours. Drug addicts going in to get some sort of help for their addictions, alcoholics for the same reason. Prostitutes bringing in their pimps who had overdosed. Walking pneumonia?!? Sounds a bit implausible.
@matthewwakeham220622 сағат бұрын
It just means you have pneumonia but you are still well enough to walk around. Think of it as slow onset pneumonia so your body has time to adapt Vs an acute pneumonia that rapidly overwhelms you. The human body has a lot reserve capacity (compare sitting on the sofa to running to catch a bus for example). As we age and become more sedentary that reserve is increasingly lost or used up. The trouble is with a slow onset pneumonia you can still reach the point where you run out of reserve or you get a second illness or infection and suddenly you are way past your bodies ability to compensate.

When I attended a translation exercise in which we had to translate from 'French to German' 'German to Italian' and all other combinations including English the instructor made an interes distinction between 'Freheit' and 'Liberté' He said that it would convey the wrong, a mistaken notion of meaning to translate ' Freiheit' into English as 'Freedom' for what the Germans understood as 'Freiheit 'approximated more closely to the meaning the French understood as Liberté. A Frenchman and a German understood Liberty as distinct from 'license' ,as a democratic recognition of commitments, obligations, responsibilities and convictions ,not their abdication, but a tacit covenant recognising laws and conventions and the thrust of such challenges to the status quo would be the lack reciprocity in the covenant so that equality, justice, were absent where a law bore down excessively on one section of the community. Freedom abrogates those tacit constraints, it is a spectrum condition at one end positing licence at the other implying slavery and subjection and discrimination by one privileged section of society of another such as Feudalism Apartheidt, National Socialism ,and if ideologically practised, by what passes for Communism. The essence of the meaning and the social and legal distinctions might not be appreciated in English but it would be crucial in understanding in the other languages. It is not a mere semantic distinction but a distinction where Freedom was a potential tyranny. 'Freedom is not a legitimate slogan because it challenges the very relationships between individuals and between individuals and Society. That is at the root of the concept of Heimat. Although this term has sadly acquired opprobrium because of National Socialism and Southern States of the USA in the 'non conformist churches especially. Thus what to the English sees like oppression to most members of the EU means a safeguard against oppression, against licence, against the sub-standard and the free circulation without restraint of what is potentially life endangering and contaminating As one educated in Europe what Brexiteers find restricting in the EU is that they are denied the right to disseminate sub-standard goods, pollute the environment, and deny the citizen redress, compensation, and/or even protection. Some oppression, some liberty
