I love how all of these very strong masculine men are so sensitive to the pain of others. Of course they can laugh later but the grimaces during the dog bite and the stubbed toe are just fantastic - you can almost feel the injury right along with them. Thank god for the green whistle!

It's nothing about "masculine men reacting in a certain way", it's really just how HUMANS work. We sympathize and maybe our energy matches theirs, thus we 'feel their pain'.

Of course. I was just thinking that they seem so strong that it is nice to know they have lovely hearts once their work is done. And yes, I know there are women who are lifeguards but there were none in this video or story - so it’s not a sexist thing at all.

@9:07 bless this sweet boy. Even in agony he’s wanting to listen and do what trusted adults are asking of him. That made this older pediatric nurse cry thinking of the blind trust he was using during the very worst pain he’s ever been in. That trust is no small thing - it’s everything and I’m so very proud of him 🥹💜

We use Windex here in the U.S. for the pain. Idk about bluebottles, but it definitely helps the pain from the jellies in Florida.

@@AveryWeinstein that's interesting. We used to use white vinegar here in Oz, for bluebottle stings. I've had plenty . They definitely aren't fun We now have stingoes which helps. It's a spray you buy from any pharmacy. I get the same from our green ant's sting. The pain can travel into my groin when they sting around the legs. Fortunately both can be avoided by being aware of your surroundings.
@AveryWeinstein
@AveryWeinstein Жыл бұрын
@@matthewcullen1298 I’ve heard bluebottles are very painful. The jellies in Florida aren’t too bad, but very small children will probably cry. I was 6 and fine pain-wise. Our friends from Indiana taught us about using Windex and it really works! I live 4 hours away from the coast in Texas, but never go because the water isn’t too nice looking. It’s probably from waste in the Mississippi River that empties out from Louisiana, the state over. Florida, California, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Hawaii have the best beaches that I’ve visited personally. New York beaches are fun, but chilly and are more there for beach amusement parks in my opinion.
@matthewcullen1298
@matthewcullen1298 Жыл бұрын
@@AveryWeinstein hopefully you might make it to Australia.😃we have some beautiful beaches. But just read the signage or seek advice from the lifeguards or lifesavers. As they say please swim between the red and yellow flags as the lifesavers know how to pick the safest spots on the beach. Bluebottles are not a constant problem at most beaches. Where I grew up on the Gold coast we usually only got them when the northerly winds were blowing strong and they'd come in with the warmer waters. I'd say the Windex must have some sort of alcohol in it. I used to use methylated spirits on sandfly bites to get rid of the itch. It stings a bit at first but it gets rid of the itch. As the lifeguards say a hot shower helps with the pain from bluebottle stings but I find it helps relieve the itch from mosquito and sandfly bites

i feel for the woman with the knee injury, my dad had his ligaments get torn off his knee cap, it was the most painful experience for him, mind you my dad is a 6”2ft man that has been in and out of surgery, he was on the verge of passing out from the pain. i can’t imagine having to do this in a lifeguard tower, and my goodness give her husband a trophy for best spouse he’s absolutely the best, if your ever in an emergency with someone who’s hurt, you help them be comfortable, let the doctors do their job, your job is to be there for your loved one show them you got them, it’ll be the world of difference for them. also amazing job lifeguards full respect goes out to all of you thank you

I was on an EMS call not too long ago for a teenage girl who had dislocated her knee cap in the Walmart parking lot. She was walking across the cross walk and her knee buckled, popping the knee cap out to the side. She was in such excruciating pain that the family couldn't get her moved so we had traffic backing up lol After a dose of Ketamine the knee was manipulated and knee cap returned into its place. Instant relief for her. I felt terrible for her. You could tell it was super painful.

I don't understand why they didn't give the little boy the pain meds earlier. That would have made this traumatic event a whole lot better. I was stung on both legs while out in deep water. I started screaming for help because my legs weren't working. The only reason I didn't drown was because I had a small tube to hold me up. I continued screaming for help but everybody just waived. I was out to far for them to hear me. Finally, I was rescued and given an EpiPen shot. My legs were blood red with whelps all over. And it was extremely painful. That poor man. He looked pretty calm for what was happening. And kudos to him for not punishing the dog.

I got stung by jellyfish and they told me to put ammonia on it. Somebody else suggested you P on it but I wasn’t gonna do that. I’m so glad he was able to calm down finally.

When I was 14 I had a dislocated knee similar to the girls. My patella however was sideways 3:35 up my my leg an snapped in half. I’ve since had 5 surgeries with more to come. I remember this pain so much. Our hospital was 45 min away from where I lived. By far the worst is when I had to be moved woowza

Blue Bottles are adorable as a baby but dang these creatures are to be avoided. I never been stung by them or the other dangerous Jellyfish but I wouldn't want to at all. Been stung by a less dangerous one and that was enough! 😱

It still amazes and disgust me how epi pens are so important to have access to for immediate help for someone TO BREATH but are $700 in America and not every business even carries one for emergency’s. Crazy.

No offense Bondi crew but if you ever give someone adrenaline calling an ambo should be standard. Heck, it says to on the epi-pen. Maybe that was just something lost in the editing.

Lol, I've heard they don't give ya's any pain relief in the ambo either aye? That sucks! I've been given morphine up the nose in the ambo once, they put this funny bell shaped thingy on a syringe....very affective 😋

We need the Green Whistle in the US…. But noooo. People have ruined the chance at nice things. Was that grandpa in the BB floppy hat who was doing NOTHING but smiling when his grandkid is screaming in the tower? And then Dad faints. Bro. Aussies are a different breed. Gotta be. They have some scary animals there.
