How to take the audio from any mp3 file, wav file, or youtube video and turn it into a ringtone: (If you want to make a clip from a song into your ringtone, you can skip step 2) 1. We will be using a standard iPhone, iTunes, and Windows. 2. Search for any KZbin-to-mp3 website and paste the video's url into the system and download the mp3 file. (You should rename it now, because it'll be more complicated to do so later) 3. Put the mp3 (or wav) file into your iTunes library. 4. Right-click the file in iTunes and go to "Get info". 5. Go to Options. It should say "Start" and "Stop" there. 6. Adjust it so that it only plays the part that you want. For example, Barry says "Yippers" around 1:16, so you should set it to start there and stop a little after 1:17, but you will have to be more precise. Click "OK" and try playing it to see how close you got it. If it's off, simply go back to "Get info" and use the decimals to get it as precise as possible. 7. Once you're satisfied with how it sounds, click "OK", have the file selected and go to "File" in the top left corner. 8. Find "Convert" and click "Create AAC Version". This will duplicate the file. 9. Connect your phone to your computer (and if you haven't already, sync it with iTunes). 10. Right-click the new, duplicated file and select "Show in Windows Explorer". 11. There it will show you the audio as an "m4a" file. If you don't see the "m4a" part, click "View" at the very top of the window, and check the box that says "File name extensions". 12. Now that the "m4a" part is visible, right-click it and select Rename." 13. Change "m4a" to "m4r", and ONLY change that "a" into an "r". (r as in "ringtone"). It'll say that the file might be unusable, but just continue. 14. Now that it's an m4r, click and drag the file onto your iTunes library (even though it won't show up there). 15. Click the icon of your phone at the top of the window (not the left) and under Settings go to Tones. 16. The ringtone should appear there, and if it does, make sure the box is checked off, and click "Sync". 17. Now with your phone, go to Settings, then Sounds, and you should be able to set your ringtone and/or text tone to whatever you had been working on. Ta-da! Hopefully you now have the knowledge necessary to make ANYTHING your ringtone, be it from a KZbin video, or simply a clip from your favorite song. I know it's a lot of complicated steps, but after a while you'll get used to them. I've used this method several times myself, even making Mr. Wilson's Rap my ringtone. (If you know how to use sound-editing programs like Audacity, the possibilities expand even more) If you need any help you can ask me and I'll try to get back to you ASAP, or you can Google search "how to turn an mp3 into a ringtone". Now go forth and make as many awesome ringtones as your heart desires!
