I'm sorry if my comments aren't supportive...the planning and execution were a terrible and yes I deal with large livestock...the safety of both the livestock and handlers has to be the utmost and you're worried about getting great videos....

It’s been mentioned several times it’s not ideal situation but I don’t see any easier way with Carl in Tex’s old pasture and moving Carl & Debbie would only be more dangerous reguardless it got done & everyone’s fine had it got to out of hand the phone would of got put down before allowing Jake or Gracie to get hurt

I won't comment on the right or wrong of moving the calf this way, none of my business. BUT, Jake I hope you are up to date on your Tetanus shot! Rolling around out in the pasture and getting scraped up like you did leaves you open to infections. Lester, sometimes you've got to put the camera down.... ❤✌

Well I think “ Texas Jake” did a great job, but I have to confess it was scary seeing Jake drug around the pasture , I was worried for him it looked very dangerous to me for him! Lester I know your videos are important to you but I really think there were a couple of times where you should have dropped the camera and jumped in to help Jake !! I’m glad Jake wasn’t badly hurt and that y’all got Gracie separated from her mom and into the littles pasture without Jake or Gracie either one being badly hurt!! Jake your guardian angel is working overtime. My brother had his thumb pulled off with bone sticking out in much the same scenario you were in. They found his thumb in his glove and docs were able to sew it back on, but it is shorter and doesn't work as well as it used to.

I wish that when you guys were treating Gracie for her wounded foot as a baby, you were able to continue hands on with her. Working with her and being able to pet her. So that handling her for any medications or whatever would be easier. My daughter's bf's raises longhorns here in Iowa and they are able to pet them like dogs. I am just wishing for safer tactics for all of you. It's down right scarey to see Tex turn around and come at you when he is full of himself because of Billy

As always Jake gets stuck into a task and gives it 110% without a thought for his own safety, hopefully next time a calf needs separated from mum you will find an easier way which is safer for both of you and less stressful on the calf. Maggie certainly doesn't help (I fear for her when you are trying to get Tex back into his pasture) I know she is trying to help but one of these days shes not going to be as quick to get out of the way. Despite all of this, the sight of Jake being towed round the pasture by Gracie was hilarious, I bet I wasn't the only one shouting at the screen for him to let go of the rope and at least she didn't drag him through any fresh cow pats. After Jakes run in with the mystery jogger and his love for the mail lady he could be know as "Horny Jake" 🤣🤣

WOW guys! That was great work! Bless Jake…..Gracie took him for a ride and I know he’s going to be feeling that in the morning! Glad you are trying to teach Jake more about doing whats needed. As he gets around doing the hard stuff he will get better. Part of that is losing the fear of animals but still repect what they can do. This is a good life lesson and he is young. He seems that we wants to learn who knows he may take over in years ahead. I can't see Ellie doing any of this

Good Roping Longhorn Lester, Jake that reminded me of when I worked at an annual sheep sale, I had a string collar around a very large ram and it took off leaping & bounding I hung on, fell over then was dragged for a while (my colleagues laughing and shouting let go) needless to say pride somehow tends to keep you hanging on!! just wish we had got a video of it back in my day. I remember as a child helping my parents separate the calves from their mothers at weaning tome. Some of those little guys have a lot of power and they’re not stupid, and they do not like when they were removed from their mom . Pretty soon Gracie start mooing calling for her mom, and Santianna will call back. It takes a while for the most to get over being separated but it is for the best. Thank you for a very fun filled video (at least for us it was.) Kudos to Jake for never giving up. Quitting is just not in his vocabulary is it? Lester, your concern for Jake and pride in his work is obvious. A wonderful video for people that don’t understand the sometimes harsher side of farming.
