Not Mindbender Canyon (Not to be confused with Mindbender Canyon) was a gorgeous canyon. But it wasn't an easy one. We made a few small mistakes having never been in there before. Mostly to do with our wetsuits. We failed to don the wetsuits early in the canyon when we had room and opted to hold out til we saw how much water we would be encountering. Well, it works for some canyons, but not this one. We hit some water in a location where it was impossible to change. Then we had to try to make it over the water stemming (which you will see how that turned out). This was our biggest mistake and the resulting factor of trying to get over the boulder while in the water. It kicked our butt's, but thankfully that was the only real issue we had.
As mentioned, it is a gorgeous canyon and if you have the skill and the equipment I'd highly recommend this canyon for a day trip. The exit climb out is tougher than any other exit climb out I've ever done (no, I haven't been in every canyon out there). The exit takes some skill and fortitude to get up. You cannot and should not hike this canyon solo. It will take some team work to get through some of the obstacles here-in. But if you can make it through, it is a pretty canyon all around. The Robbers Roost has a special mystical trance over it. As my first canyon in the area, it's got me interested in going back and seeing more of the area and doing some other canyons out there so..... Stay Tuned. Hit subscribe and see what the next one is that I am able to get into out there (next season).

Nice Vid Jared. Haven't ever seen it so wet! We usually set up a belay for the exit, but if your crew is all up for climbing it... I am disappointed that bolts have shown up again at the last rap again. Plenty of natural anchor choices available there. And yes, a sweet pack drag!

Thanks for watching Tom. This video is a couple years ago now and I think I've seen a more recent one from another group that looked like the bolts may have been removed since we were in there.

Wow - not for the claustrophobic. Awesome video Jared! (The exit looked pretty interesting!)

This canyon actually did get a little tighter than we expected, but it's not the tightest I've ever been in. The exit was brutal. I wanted to show some of the climb out so that others watching would better understand the climb out. The part I didn't show was the boulder scramble back to the top after the climb. That kicked my butt. It was a straight up climb through and over a boulder field.

It was my first time in the area and the canyon was well worth it.

This canyon looked pretty tight, did you ever get into a spot that you were worried about getting stuck?

I wrote that comment in the beginning. Consider it redacted...

There were a few spots where coming up to it I was a bit concerned, but once starting through it was a non-issue. There wasn't any place in the canyon we had to go high to get through. We stayed low the entire time.
