You are a FABULOUS breeder…. actually ….. no one could ask for a better breeder! Your so very dedicated, loving and you keep your dogs immaculate. Though day, I don’t doubt, your heart must have sunk when you discovered the mistake, but anyone who follows you would understand all that you do . I had a Golden Retriever 10 week old puppy that had all these same symptoms and we thought we would lose her. After numerous vet stays, muscle biopsy, tests upon tests and trying everything nothing was working. Because of where I worked for a pathologist near UCD in Davis Ca Veterinary school, I had an opportunity to speak to a world renown vet who was chief instructor at UCD. Dr. Frederic Frye. He’s written many books. But he simply said “take her home and give her a can of Campbells chicken noodle soup. I’ve seen it work miracles with these cases.” So I did and within a hour she was up and walking and within a week she was perfectly fine. She lived to be almost 15. He said even though their potassium and sodium levels look okay on labs there is something that the soup hits on that awakens something that isn’t working as it should. It made me a believer! I just thought I would share that. Worth a try if all else fails I guess🤷♀️ Still holding sweet little Rosie in my thoughts and prayers.

Breeding can be exhausting, not only making sure babies are well cared for but also being cheery and informative to Pet buyers. I have made mistakes like you explained with Silver, but normally I notice earlier in the process. What I have learned to do is tell every buyer to pick 2 favorite puppies, that way if someone else likes one better than another or a personality won't match etc you can steer people towards a better choice. Good luck to you !

A word about puppy picking at Doodles of NC. I got the very last choice of June's litter and didn't even get to meet the pup before he arrived on an airplane. Does it matter? No! We got the perfect puppy. I couldn't have picked any better for us if I had had first choice. My advice is to trust Miss Erin and JP. These are dogs of distinction, each and every one. Our Buddy is already manding perfection, loving his "crib," (crate) and potty training way beyond his age. Plus, giving puppy kisses galore.

Sassy before she was born we already told the breeder what we wanted a lovable playful female that's also sassy most of our dogs before sassy wouldn't go near a people and we wanted one we could trust to take with us if we went places dogs are allowed and all the ones we had at the time are what are called timid they are all trained to not bite so if they bite you did something to them we never let dogs who would have a chance of biting someone run free the only one I know was a nibbler but that was her way of showing affection her first owner had a heart condition so she couldn't show her affection the normal way so she found a work around years with us and she never went past that but occasionally would lick your hand only advice we have was not to let her near you while having smell of food on finger as she had a tendency to have that whole finger in her mouth and not let go unless you got her attention with food one thing we couldn't get out of her she had a tight grip for such a small dog teacup rat terrier to be exact 😂😂😂

Thank goodness for modern medicine. Glad Rosie is stabilizing. She did look better. A little more alert and able to sit on her own. Something people don’t realize is that after an antibiotic does it’s job, what’s left is dead organisms. Those dead organisms can be toxic and cause problems until they are cleared from the puppy’s system. Hopefully that is the problem and from here on out Rosie will get better. Orange collar is so happy to be with her new family. The family who got her has to be thrilled To have moved up the list. Miss Orange is such a sweet energetic bundle of joy. Please give yourself a break. Mistakes can happen and your honesty is admirable as so many "breeders" would not care about it. You have made amends with both families that's all you can do. As you said maybe slow down a bit ( hard to do in this day and age I know) then you can double check things. Hope Rosie makes it but speaking from experience you have to take advice from your vet etc and sometimes you have to let them go. It really helps to be honest! I believe the breader I got my puppy from did the same. I was suppose to have first pick of the females (it was only 2) but Instead she said this is you puppy. When I asked about the other she said she was to small, they didn't know if she would make it. BUT then she went live later that week and announced her as someone else's without giving me the opportunity to choose. Plus she assigned puppies the day they were born 😩. You have so much going on. I have been thinking about little Rosie every day, waiting on your video. I’m so sorry, still pulling for her! Prayers for that angel 😇 mistakes happen as least you owned up to it. That’s the best thing to do. So, let us know right away on Wednesday what happens with Rosie, we will be waiting and praying. God bless 🙏

We Had to own up to it!! It would have been way worse if we pushed them into my taking orange.

What a stressful experience for y’all. It’s very understandable tho with all that’s been happening and it’s amazing that (1) you are so honest with us and your families to show us even mistakes and (2) that you made it a positive experience for everyone in the end. Now the only hard part is for the one family to wait several weeks to find out who their puppy will be 😂 but they will be so so happy to have the pick of the litter. Praying for Miss Ruby. Poor girl. Praying for peace and comfort for y’all too. Bella Grace and Oakley are SO gorgeous!! They may be my favorite mommas bc their little faces and ears are just so cute. ❤️ are they both considered mediums?
@DoodlesofNC2 жыл бұрын
Technically Bella grace is a medium because she’s 26lbs. Oakley is a mini, 24lbs. Our cut off is 25! But I’ve been telling the families small mediums! 😂😂😂

As a breeder myself, I’m so sorry this happened to you but I’m so glad you could get it sorted! Have you ever thought of maybe having them pick at 8 weeks instead?
@DoodlesofNC10 ай бұрын
Thank you for the kindness! We have asked families often when they like to pick and people love doing it as early as they can start to see some personality!

I got a 2nd puppy from the same breeder and I’ve had no issues but due to life circumstances I just can’t handle the second puppy anymore and will be downsizing my place and won’t have room for the second dog anymore either but I’m so torn to write my breeder even though I know she would be willing to take her back ! I’m just so saddened but I know it’s the best thing to do

I hope she takes her back no questions asked! You’re doing the right thing for your two dogs!

I've learned that the money for the dog is to make sure that the new family can actually afford the dog if something happens. Also who the dog is going to is very important.

Interesting point! Thank you!!

@@DoodlesofNC your welcome. I've thought of it like this: you might get thousands for the dog, but if they return it, it's pointless home for it. Plus now the dogs older and harder to home usually.

My daughter had a litter of golden retrievers and one with a failure to thrive. She took her to an animal chiropractor and she came right out of it. Please talk to one and give this a try. The worse that can happen is nothing.
