From the trailer, I am most excited by how closely they are staying to the tone, visuals, and story of the game. I am most excited overall to see if there is any additional dialogue and scenes that will provide context and depth for many familiar characters. :)

Would love that, that's why I appreciate what they did with Bill and Frank in season 1! Whilst I was gutted we didn't get Bill and Ellie arguing, I get that in the game... I don't get in the game what they gave us in the show

I got into TLOU by watching the series, then played both games and fell even more in love, so excited for this next season!! I also thought Catherine would be the scar leader lol. The 2nd game will be split into 3 seasons btw!

If THAT SCENE happens super early in the season just to appease gamers, there will be a huge drop in viewership from TV audiences who love Pedro Pascal. It’s frustrating, but it’s true. You have to have those fans who just watch the TV show to want to continue the show after IT. HAPPENS. I’m sure HBO and the creators know this, and they’ll act accordingly. I could see that scene coming in the penultimate episode. This is TV, it’s a different medium-gamers will have to accept that they have to cater to both gamers and non-gamers.

I am so curious on how they are going to do this because my biggest complaint with the game for part 2 isn't what happens, it's the order it happens. I think it would have been better in chronological order rather than jumping around with current day and flashbacks constantly happening so that's what I hope they change in the show!

See I get that, but it's the inciting incident that sets off Ellie's whole storyline. Without it theres no Ellie and Dina in Seattle (we clearly see this in the trailer). Which means they'd have to stretch the Jackson segment to 5/6 episodes which is too much of not very much (even with what looks like an added segment)? Unless they choose to do at least 4/5 flashback episodes like ep3 in s1 I guess, but just don't see them doing that many.

actually you are wrong, most of the gamers hated that it happened that early its a common complaint. i know from watching the walking dead what will happen. imo i think it happens as the season finale. the clips they showed dont make sense if they all are from season 2 one scene is really late in the game and others too so the clips they showed feel like season 2 and some from season 3.

@@jordanmallen the game is much more interesting with seeing the scenes unfold and not just a linear progression. you go into the game with questions after the opening.

I absolutely agree! They kept the same story but changed some details and that's what I appreciated about it most.
