@@JOSHUAAGUILAR-f4o If there isn't enough space for momentum, as multiple gaps shown, the slide crouch trick wouldn't be far enough and you'd be left to bouncing which isn't a NES mechanic. You'd have to be extremely lucky. That's the point of the map, protect the mushroom to make it through the map as little Mario can only get through and use the mushroom for the ending damage.

That’s the whole point of the level; you *need* the super mushroom to survive the firebar at the end but if you collect it before that point you would be stuck. It’s actually pretty genius.

In case you don’t get it, I can tell you. He needed some of that to get through the fire bar because he was small. That jump at the top was too high to get to. Also, he couldn’t just get it normally because some of the things he needed to do to get through required you to be small. At least, I think that’s what goes on here.
