I know what you mean about trying to close the Sol De Janeiro Bum Bum cream.😄 I’m the same with it. I agree that there are better Beauty Advent Calendars for similar price. Especially the LookFantastic one and NEXT Beauty one I recently unboxed. I haven’t tried the Sol De Janeiro blackcurrant scent 76 in this calendar and will need look out for it.💕

Needs a really nice perfume and a decent mascara. The fenty lipstick was my only 'I want that'. LF was so much better (thank goodness I got that!)

I’ve been saving my Advantage points all year for this based on last years being so good. I wasn’t overly impressed with it at first glance, but ordered it as I was getting it for free (effectively) However I didn’t know about the other two. I have actually returned this and when my points recredit I’ll order the skin care instead. That has a load of bronzers which I never use but the rest is all pretty decent. This one has a couple of stand outs - the new Sol de Janeiro spray, the Bubble serum (despite the box talking about it in the first person 🙄) the Hello Sunday eye cream, the Drunk Elephant stuff, the Grown Alchemist hand cream all look good. But some real stinkers too. How many blushers? Including that dark red no 7 one that would make me look like a cadaver. A huge shampoo doesn’t excite me without a conditioner. Philip Kingsley 😴 Urban Decay 😴 Soap and Glory foot cream, how noughties? 🙄 And some of the sizes, you’d need binoculars to see.

I did the same. I was torn between this one and the 12 day one but I decided that while the sizes are smaller, there is probably more I’d use in this one. The makeup in the 12 day one just didn’t wow me-I’m more a skincare girl. But the 24 days of skincare didn’t grab me either coz I’ve tried most of them before and prefer a smaller more luxury then a full size cheaper product. But I am disappointed when I compare it to last years one.

The skincare calendar seems like they sent 2 people to their warehouse and said you pick 12 random products each but don't tell the other what you have picked. We have 2 micellar waters and a least 2 tanning products, 2 face oils, 2 acid products, etc. I wish they would have done 1 really good calendar (like last year) or maybe 1 normal and 1 premium. Or just put a bit more focus on the selection of products for the skincare calendar without the doubling up of product categories (maybe another 12 day calendar would have been better?)

I agree with you completely. It’s very underwhelming and I think there are better value ones. For me, if I’m paying £100 I want 25 days and a lot less minis than that. I know the prices separately would be more but people buy these with one or two items they love in it and the rest are a chance to try and maybe find some new faves. If you only get minis you don’t get a chance to really experience the products. There are others I would pick above this one and the lack of conditioner is a real negative too

I agree. There are many alternate, but better value, Boots' products that I would prefer in the full size. For £100, the 12 tiny trial/travel sizes are just ridiculous - should be given away, or at least doubled up into 6 of the 25 boxes.

The positive with this calendar is that there are no wristbands, hair ties, scrunchies, or clips. Defo a bit overpriced for the contents, but tbh I think this year's advent calendars are quite underwhelming with tons of haircare, fillers and samples. I initially thought harrods was underwhelming, but it's actually all usable. I purchased the holland & barretts calendar because most things will be used apart from the wristbands, lol. There's certain products and types that seem to be in almost every calendar. Maybe I've been getting calendars and beauty boxes for too long, which is why I'm not being wowed!

No Claire it's not just you with the sole de Janeiro bum bum creams! In every single Advent calendar that I got last year ( and the year before ) from the UK I still have them sitting on my dresser because I have not been able to open any of them none of them that bombed the a bright the boom boom you name it they're all still stuck it's like they were sealed shut and not willing to open whatsoever I even had my husband try and it didn't work that's why they're sitting as a display on my dresser. If I want to open them I would have to crack them that's literally how they're just stuck I don't know if they're sealed they just didn't come out of the mold right I don't know what happened so it's not just you darling! 😊

I got this last year for my daughters partner and she thought it was fantastic, this year the glossybox took my eye for her, I subscribe so only paid £70, I was soo impressed by the price and products I ordered a 2nd one for my daughter so this year she will have the glossybox and the Harrods 25day calendar

Which wouldn't be so much an issue if it wasn't all the same cream. While the fragrance mist is their brand new release, I wish they sent a 90ml of that instead of 30ml + bumbum cream. Sol de Janeiro has FOUR different creams, it shouldn't be that difficult to send a tub that isn't yellow 😂

I would pay £80 for it , very good content and variety of products but 8 ml serum is a joke as an eye cream is min 8 ml and usually 15 ml.... and for the reason of the size of some products a bit overpriced

They reduced the value this year for this one last years was worth £465 ish from memory, good they didn't increase the prices like other have this year. I'm honestly torn on this one. There's some I would like to try. initially the 12 day one grabbed me more but I can't choose do I get one both or neither. I'm thinking I'll sit on it until the look fantastic arrives and see if they get reduced at all.

How lovely with a cool toned lip product for once! They are so rare in boxes and calendars which leaves us with a cool undertone with heaps of nasty warm toned products we can't use which I am really sick of as it is just a waste of money.

I don’t think Boots AC is worth it for the price. Quite a lot of sample size products, which we have already seen in their boxes throughout the year. And I don’t understand why all the Advent calendars seem to include only the original Bum Bum cream, when there are others in the range. I find this years Boots AC to be disappointing.
