The "Tiger with Wings" symbol the Flying Tigers used was designed by Walt Disney himself!! One of my all time favorite books is by one of the pilots and tells about them. "God is my Co-Pilot".

I was confused at first because my Dad spoke of the Flying Tigers when he was Danang, Vietnam. During the Vietnam conflict, Flying Tigers continued to fly military troops and cargo into Vietnam during the war years. So, it became more an airline than the WWII fighter squadron. I learned something new!

I believe the Flying Tigers air freight company was formed by former Flying Tigers.

I visited China in the 1990s. I was stunned and very touched when our group was taken to the Flying Tigers museum in Chongqing. I had no idea the Chinese still recognized the aid the USA gave them against Japan.

That was a great video and story. I've got to say Recky, some of the military stories I know about, some vaguely, some not at all, but I absolutely love your reactions to them! Thank you for sharing , it's wonderful to watch these. 😊

Fun reaction, your enthusiasm for Fat Electrician's presentation is really entertaining and infectious. LOL But I am hoping that Fat Electrician will look into the polling data for the US public opinion on getting into World War 2...then he would know that January 1941 was 100 percent NOT the peak of US "not going to war" sentiment. The historical myth that the American people were heavily opposed to getting into the war against Germany/Japan all the up until the attack on Pearl Harbor is one of the misconceptions that I really get annoyed by...definitely a "pet peeve" of mine. 😁 The peak of US anti war sentiment before WW2 was in the first half of 1940...in May of 1940 when Germany invaded France and the Low Countries, only 7 percent of Americans agreed that "the US should declare war on Germany" and get into the war. But by the end of 1940, FDR had shifted public opinion enough that in September...when the Draft was passed by Congress... polling showed that when asked "which was more important staying out of the war or helping England defeat Germany", 52 percent of Americans said it was more important to help Britain win...by March of 1941 when Lend Lease was passed, the number was up to 67 percent of Americans agreeing it was more important for Germany to be defeated, even if that meant the USA would get into the war.💯
