You'll be surprised how much important info is conveyed in the seemingly mundane scenes. There are no superfluous lines.

How fortunate is the gift of hindsight after having seen the series probably more than once. I bet all of you that weren't reading deep into camera shots on random things or details in mundane conversations on episode 2. It was something you figured out as the show unfolded, that's when you started picking up on everything has meaning. It will unfold with them too as they progress

The devil is in the details. Walt misses a lot of them. Throwing the gas mask in the beginning. Not making sure Jesse understood the importance of the LDPE plastic tub(instead just criticizing him for not paying attention when he was a student). See if you can catch him overlooking small details because it usually snowballs lol.

Which is kind of weird you guys are from the UK you don't have castle doctrine law anymore.?? I could be wrong but we took that law from the UK .. it's an old British castle law that some states kept. .

I don't consider him (yet) a murderer when he is at the point of guarding the surviving guy. If the story made it to court he could easily convince jurors that the first incident was self-defense. They were pointing guns at his head and he was convinced he had as long to live as it took him to cook the product. Seeing it like that really changes how you consider his dilemma in this episode, I think.

In America, white brief underwear is very common on men born in the 80s and earlier. My father wore white briefs all his life. While, I switched to boxers in high school because it was uncool to be in "whitey tighties".

Yeah, my stepdad is 59 and he owns both (I only know because I do his laundry lol). He has said he prefers the white undies though. He said boxers tend to ride up his thighs and he has to 'adjust' a lot, so I'm guessing it's more for utility and comfort.

Well. The law in Scotland is different to English law. It is allowed to protect yourself in Scotland. Baron Hume is one of Scots Law’s “Institutional” writers, i.e. his work is one of the foundations of our law and is treated with the highest respect. And he wrote: "According to all authorities, that of the Mosaic and the civil law, as well as our own custom, and indeed by the express permission of the statute 1661, c.22, one is also justified in killing him who breaks into one’s house in the night, to steal. It would not however be reasonable to construe those authorities narrowly, so as to limit the privilege to the single case of an attempt to steal: They are rather to be received as grounds, a fortiori, to authorise the like course of resistance of one who breaks into a house to commit murder, rape, or hamesucken, or to set fire to the house. Nor is it necessary that the man may have carried his assault so far, as clearly to show which of these several felonies he had in view : It is sufficient that he has entered the house, or has broke the safeguard of the building, so that he may enter when he will, and is in the act or immediate preparation so to do." In practice the ridiculous screwdriver case you mentioned would have never happened in Scotland, because no prosecutor would be stupid enough to even attempt to take it to court. English law is different, and the screwdriver case indeed happened down South.
@SuzySteejo
@SuzySteejo 6 ай бұрын
If only a 1661 statute was applicable to modern life. You still have to consider the use of reasonable force even during a home invasion, you can't cry self defence because someone broke into your home and you've chased them down like John Wick. - Steejo

In american middle and high schools we get to choose which classes we want to take. But we have to have the required credits to graduate. Each class term will give half a credit or 1 credit. You need 4 credits worth of science classes, math, english/literature and like 8 elective credits. Electives are like theatre acting or set design or band class or health class or psychology or woodworking or auto shop(very few highschools have auto). Most highschools require a year or twos worth of secondary language classes like spanish, french, japanese, russian, german, etc. all of those options were listed in my school classes... The whole ambulance and medical bills thing is terrible in the USA. We as humans should do the right thing and make sure we are all taken care of. America is funny though we will focus on making vaccines for the new covid 19 and give 100's of millions worth out to other countries as foreign aid but then charge their own citizens for simple medical crap. Like the millions couldnt have been used to support your own citizens? This is why the world looks at america with googly eyes and everyone wants to be here. American polticians focuse so much on giving and caring for matters outside the US it leaves american citizens uncared for. Best thing we have that helps citizens is foodstamps. But even then ive been homeless before and got denied foodstamps because i was still attending college and i needed to have a job that gave atleast 20 hours a week to qualify for foodstamps. Americas policies and rules are pretty messed up and focus on making a business money and the politicians support that behavior. Sorry for my rant i enjoy suzy and her lil tiffs about america because we usually feel the same :) ill

There were some crazy theories when Breaking Bad was still going on, that since it was an AMC show, it's story was somehow correlated with that of The Walking Dead. Not talking only about the rhymes on the title but also because of some easter eggs from each show that they added. It's was a crazy hypothesis, but a lot of people really believed, or wanted to believe, that the whole zombie thing in TWD was Walter's fault. And it wasn't even the crazier one. Some people theorised that it was a matrix or somehow the results of an alien intervention/invasion. Needless to say that those were good times. 😔
