Everyone says that horses know when you’re scared, but knowing that SCARES me and makes me even more nervous around horses.

You have to think that they also know when you’re calm and happy! The rider has to have good energy because when you’re scared you clench up and throw the horse off balance, your moves are janky and erratic - all of that makes the horse think that there’s something wrong and since you’re clearly not in the control of the situation they will be. And they will probably try to run away from the “danger” to make you feel better so you can relax and the horse can be comfortable. No respectable trainer will put you on a crazy horse on your first day, you just have to relax, enjoy and learn!🥰 Your happy calm mood makes the horse calm and happy!

Horses won't do anything if you either don't panic or if they aren't in a dangerous situation. There are always right people for you that will understand your fear and will help you go through it... As someone who rides since I was a kid, it did happen that a horse got spooked or mad and through me off the saddle, but horses don't hold grudges. If you ever want to approach horses because you feel like you want to, take one step at a time an if you ever feel like stopping, that is what is right for you to do.

It's healthy to be scared, but it becomes a proplem when that feeling takes complete control and hides all the other ones. I feel scared when I jump, but I don't let fear be the n.1 in control. I trust the people around me and I know that the horse doesn't want to harm me. I feel scared when I have to get bloods drawn or vaccines because I have a mild needle phobia. But I trust the nurses to keep me safe and I trust that they will help me if something goes wrong. I'm not alone. If you feel scared, you don't need to ride the first time you meet a horse. You can just watch from afar, or give pets ect. It can be good to walk with one until you feel ok to move on. There's no shame in taking baby steps. And remember, it's always best to not force yourself. I've made a last-moment decicion to not ride on the walk to the arena, because I was so intimidated and crying. (I have anxiety disorder)

She seemed extremely stiff and uncomfortable, they should have adjusted her stirrups to her liking or made sure she was comfortable on the horse, not just thrown into a sotuation she couldn’t control 3. 𝘕𝘰𝘣𝘰𝘥𝘺 intervened when the horses were 𝘢𝘭𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘺 getting too close to one another, and 𝘯𝘰𝘣𝘰𝘥𝘺 stepped forward even 𝘢𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘳 they nearly got in a kicking fight. 𝘯𝘰𝘣𝘰𝘥𝘺 corrected her reigns or intervened where there was 𝘤𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘺 about to be a problem. On the other hand, though, the girls handled themselves very well in not blaming the horses, not freaking out, and keeping their composure in the face of a dangerous problem. And their posture and seats are nice. Props to them for that.

Yes and no they stated it’s a mare so if she’s in heat/bred regularly and she’s not ready to breed she will kick even at a gelding or mare. Yes if she’s a constant kicking then the flag would be necessary but a lot of people don’t flag their horses. And also like the other comment said it is an animal and she could just be having an off day I have a 15 year old gelding who loves riding and is a total teddy bear and I’ve been reared off of him and he’s just plain out said no to getting his saddle on and moving forward
