This happened to me verbatim. Pulled myself from a dark place and instead of being happy for me ppl scoffed and rolled their eyes at me. Ppl I knew since childhood & was ride or die for- thought they were supporting me but they'd been enjoying picking apart my struggle instead. Realized that they preferred me to stay small cuz it made them feel bigger by comparison. I started to grow and they started to sweat. It was so disheartening. Thought I'd share so you'd know you're not alone. Sorry the ppl in your life weren't in the the right heart space to say this to you but congratulations on getting out of your depression. Me too. We were dancing and drinking, but when looking up at him instead of having fun I'd notice he'd never be looking at me. So, I asked him, "Do you think Im pretty?" He'd avoid looking directly at me as he said, "Yes, you're beautiful!" Especially, as he'd say, "you're beautiful." He'd stop looking at me, and look down and too the side each time. I flipped out and called him an "OP!" He left and came back the next day around 2pm with hickeys on his neck saying, "Are you ok now!!?" I told him "No!" Then, he proclaimed he'd be gone for the next few months. I flipped him off as I walked away. I believe he left to some other place now.

I’ve had to “figure it out “ all by myself since I was prob even younger than 7, but at 7, I took on the parental role and went thru the world blindfolded. Been bullied, laughed at, made fun of, etc but I did what I had to do.
