“Expensive for that category” is GOLD. Such next level advice to find gifts that are “expensive” or “luxurious” on a budget

This is so helpful! I was struggling to figure out what to get my partner, I already got her some fancy sleepwear but couldn't think of anything else. But, since she recently started a job where she works long hours for 3-4 days, I think I can turn this into a relax experience with bubble bath stuff, wine, and a good book or something!

I love the concept of something that is expensive and a splurge for the category they're in! My budget is super small, so this is a great idea, especially for adults

Hey Nick, love your content.. Quick and possibly dumb question about YNAB. When we follow this program, do we then in real life replicate the transactions with our banking so that the our actual banking looks identical in terms of savings, bill payments etc the same way you have it set up on YNAB if you are doing the manual method of entries vs them being pulled from your bank account ?

a better example may be say Ive got 10 categories under Living Expenses on YNAB.. Am I supposed to physically have that many bank accounts for all those categories or how do you actually manage those categories with real money in your bank account ? hope this makes sense

Thanks Elizabeth and Judy for jumping in here! @MJD MJD - the short answer is no. You only need one bank account. You can have more (but it does add confusion). Think of YNAB as a place to tell your money what to do and the bank account is the place to hold your physical money. You definitely don't need to replicate that at the bank! Nick

@@mappedoutmoney thanks for the reply.. I don't know why I'm making this more complicated then it needs to be. guess it just takes a while to get into the swing of it. thanks again :)
