@@williamf3874 Building is forever will be a cool idea. The problem is the skill floor and ceiling. Can't really enjoy a game when the last 10 people are usually going to be the tryhards who can build a 15 floor tower in 10 seconds. Building was cooler back then because it was an option but it didn't mean it was your only way to win. Now, its basically a necessity.

yeah i don't really get how people thing removing the thing that made it unique and interesting is an actual good idea. people literally just mald that they can't use the single skill they have learned and that they need to learn something else. yes building definetly wasn't perfect, some balancing is 100% needed. but if you wanna play a shooter where only aiming is needed, play something else. like honestly, look for example at melee, is wavedashing and all other tech shit because you can get so good at them? no, it's what makes melee so unique from the rest of the smash bro's franchise

The problem with building is the massive barrier to entry that it creates, and building ensures you can create a cover wherever you go. It makes poor positioning far less punishing and invalidates a lot of the original map design.

@@jeffboy4231 The fact that everyone except people like yourself seem to enjoy the game more as it is now shows that it is in fact a good idea. Having to go through seven layers of fortifications to get to the actual gunfight isn’t fun or interesting, it’s tedious at best and frustrating at worst. You’re currently the one malding about not being able to use the single skill that they learned in order to beat people who don’t want to put hours of additional practice into a system that’s only applicable in a single game. Melee tech is a shitty comparison as well, because it’s impossible to engage with the game without putting in a shit ton of practice to get good at utilizing wavedashing. That sort of thing is fine for a game that’s decades old and is only played by people who are diehard fans of it, but in a game that wants to be successful in the present moment, all something like building or wavedashing achieves is adding another barrier to entry for people who want to enjoy the game casually. Prior to the change, the only ones who wanted to play were those who were already invested in the game. If you weren’t already proficient in building, seeing someone create a skyscraper in half a second every time they get shot is just annoying. If someone is running out in the open with no cover and the only consequence is taking a few shots before they seal themselves inside Fort Knox to heal before reengaging with full health and peek shooting over the top of a ramp, that literally just takes any sort of skill with positioning or awareness out of the equation. Not getting punished for making a mistake is stupid, and building allowed that to happen by holding down a button and spinning in a circle. If you enjoy building, good for you, but a lot more people are enjoying the game right now because it is an extremely polished BR, and building only really served to add a surface level differentiation from other BRs without actually adding much actual worth to the game itself or making it more fun to play. The resurgence of people playing the game and enjoying it in its current state supports that idea fairly well.

I was literally just thinking today that the next video would probably be a Fortnite one, specifically because "I will play fortnite again when it becomes fun again" was said during I think an RL Craft Video because someone asked. And yeah, no building is really fun rn, as someone who has continuously refused to learn building and only learned guns (while also taking long ass breaks lasting entire seasons from the game due to fighting abstract art architects not being enjoyable) since chapter 1 season 7, I had full confidence texting my friends "Y'all live in my world now" the second I found out about no building, to playing two solo games and texting again an hour later with a picture of my first solo win "MY. WORLD." Yeah, I have absolutely been having a blast. Although I have noticed, that yes I'm on switch, but people In solo's, braindead weaklings, people in duos and up, actually have brain matter. Probably because crossplay. My aim is still kinda shit when I would rather it not be though, but at least I have still absolutely refused to spend money on this game. Even still my goal is to get that Dr. Strange Schimitar lol. Well now that I have the urge to ramble out of my system, time to go back to college work. And also put this in my backlog to watch later
