I went with the Note 9 as I was being budget conscious. It was still a huge upgrade for me since I was upgrading from a Note 5 that finally died on me. I was able to get the Note 9 for $590.00, I just couldn't pass up that deal. I also still prefer to have a headset jack, I just can't depend on bluetooth headsets alone. They die too fast and it's easy enough to just pop a wired headset in and I don't care what anyone says you simply get better audio with a wired device as oppose to wireless. So in the end I went budget conscious and voted for Note 9 which I'm absolutely happy with.

@@eugenegrant3257 Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus was my previous phone. And it had begun to show noticeable lag. I even had to factory reset it 2x. Not all phones and experiences are created equal. I'm still enjoying my Note 9 and I'm not having any issues. So for me a case can give me a sense of freshness until I'm ready to upgrade.

Last the S6 was the next gen look from the S4 with the edge and they made it better with the S7 Edge. 😎

I just use the panorama mode if I need a wider image anyway. Bonnie & Clyde Ride: Nope, it does not.. The Note 9 feels just as new. And it does not have a ugly camera cutout to ruin the screen. Mcjuggerfat: It has a "full screen".. Just a little wider top and bottom chins. And that's just a good thing anyway. I'll take that over the camera cutout and lack of iris scanning any day of the week..

The same here. The fact that the new Samsung's phone generations are all battery-inseparable and Lithium batteries last 2 years, makes me feel crap since we have to leave $500 a year to comply with their exploiting plan of buying a new phone every two years. I am also sticking with my Note 4 (using the second battery) until it really stops working so I really have to buy a new one (probably Note 10 plus if not note 12 plus!).

I'm glad you made this video. I actually have two Note 9s that I use to make KZbin videos (over 600 at this point) so I was very curious to see a side by side comparison. I have so many tools that depend on the headphone jack, like XLR microphone connections (iRIG PRE), Lavalier mics, and more, and a dongle will not fit on my phone while using my gumball. So, I'll wait for the 11. No need to spend the money to figure out some kind of blue tooth upgrade to my tools for another year! Thanks so much for the review. It's Note two 9s for now and we'll look at the Note 11 to see what it will have in store.

I've already upgraded my Note 9 to Note 10+, and I'm so happy with my decision. Samsung bought back my Note 9 for $600 and sent me my coupon code for $200 (pre-order promotion). It actually costs me $300 which it's worth way more than that. It is way more smooth and faster than my Note 9 and it doesn't get hot the way Note 9 was. Thanks for comparison. I have the 9 and not inclined to give up headphone jack, iris scanner (I can use for Samsung Pay and filling in app & browser passwords), rear fingerprint reader (reaching from below, I never touch camera lens), LED notifications, heart rate/blood oxygen reader, unobstructed display, and Bixby button (remapped to 8 useful shortcut actions). I'd rather wait 'til at least S11 for a more noticeable upgrade.

I have already upgraded to the Note 10 plus. Items that are improved that i do use regularly is the front fingerprint scanner, and the new DEX full desktop integration. The DEX integration is a big deal for me and I love it. I also think the speakers on the 10 are better than on the 9 and that is good because the options for headphones are more limited because of the missing audio jack. But the reasons I dont like the new Note 10 plus; 1. Why did they move the damn power button??? I hate the location of the new power button. 2. The missing audio jack 3.I am not impressed by the batter either. To me it seems to last at least no longer than the note 9 and seems at least through daily use to be a small bit worse at lasting without being recharged. Overall the 10 is an improved phone but it does have issues. I would not call it a perfect phone.

I love this Note 10+ 2years later! It's better than the day it was released now that it's been updated to one ui.3.1 & Android 11. So smooth & fast. I can't kill this battery in a days use. I'm considering buying the Note 9 Refurbished from Amazon for $250.. I'll just use it as a back up or outside the house phone.. You can't go wrong with either phone but the Note 10+ is impressive

Great video! Phone comparisons are relative to what you currently have. The Note series is my favorite adaptation of Android because I am a power user. Note still is the phone with the least compromises. N9 or 10 series you are still going to be satisfied.

I purchased the Note 9 directly through Samsung and they were offering an additional $100 (total of $600) for the trade in of the Note 9. The Note 9, or most phone cameras, can take wide angle lens photos. Simply use the panorama setting and scan up/ down or left to right and if done right, you now have the same effect of a wide angle lens. Taking a panoramic picture, doesn't have to mean a photo that is extremely wide and narrow. Also, the note 9 also can translate handwritten text to typed text characters.

Hi Lexy. Good comparison video between the newly released Galaxy Note 10+ and the Galaxy Note 9 from last year. The Note 10+ wins easily. The phone I have now is the Galaxy Note 8 and I'll be upgrading to the Galaxy Note 10+ in the coming few weeks. When I get my Note 10+ I'll get mine that's nicely equipped with 512 GB of internal memory storage from my carrier. In addition to that I'll just log onto Amazon and order the 512 GB micro sd memory card for only $85 with free shipping. At the 2:40 time mark in this video you started to mention that with the Note 9, getting access to the notification panel/shade can be done easily by swiping down on the fingerprint scanner and can't be done with the Note 10+. Well, there's an easier way to get access to the notification panel/shade. This advantage you'll love the most. It'll be a nice touch. It's been enabled on my Note 8 for several months now and will be accessible on the Note 10+. Here's what you do for the other easier way I'm referring to. On the Home Screen pinch anywhere on it or press and hold any blank area on the screen. Next, tap on Home Screen Settings icon in the far right corner. Next, while in the Home Screen Settings menu scroll all the way down to the part that says "Quick-Open Notification Panel". Tap on that area to move the slider to the "on" position. That's it. It's done. Now, all you have to do is simply swipe downward "anywhere" on the Home Screen to get access to the Notification panel/shade. This is the easiest way to get to that panel. When I get my Note 10+ that'll be one of the first things I'll do.

Very nice review and crisp recommendations. I traded my Note 9 for a 10+ and the following are my observations..... Not great ones but good for say to day use..... Sound was louder on the Note 9 but fuller on the note 10+. The blur effects on Bokeh are brilliant on the newer model. ToF sensor really does make a difference. The newer colours on the new note is fantastic. Because of the lack of earpiece on the new one, calls are a bit difficult to hear sometimes. Apart from the sleek S-pen, it feels almost realistic to write and palm rest is better because of the wider screen.

I very happily pre-ordered the 10+ on day one as an upgrade from my Note 9. I'm really loving the cameras and the pen (it's not a stylus). Also the wireless power share has been really handy with my watch and earbuds. Actually sometimes I use it as a secondary charger for my watch if they both need charging over night.

You also get a virtual reality world with Oculus support. I can't use my Gear VR with the Note 10. And the VR market apps are only growing and developers add more and more fantastic experiences to the store. I'm not getting rid of my Note 9 for a very, very long time!

Headphone jack, uninterrupted display, heart-rate sensor, Notification LED make the Note 9 arguably superior to the Note 10+, depending on what you're looking for. To me the only advantage the Note 10+ has over the Note 9 is the better camera.

Excellent video!!! I purchased a "renewed" used "perfect out of the box" Note 9 for $555. My lack of fluency skills to exploit the functionality of the Note 10, budget and lack of a headphone jack led me to decide to wait to see what the next iterations of the Note will bring. I'm enjoying the Note 9 screen compared with my dying Note 5. Thanks for your video opinion.

As much as I dislike upgrading each year, it's a must for me, since I need to help others with their new devices including the note 10. Although most people focus on the 1k price tag they forget to mention Samsung's trade-in program, which makes it so much easier to upgrade for a minimal investment compared to buying it out right. No headphone jack, no removable battery, no SD slot, progress. I'm being cynical. Reason: Headphone jack: To listen to high-quality music Bluetooth is still not up to par. Removable battery: Batteries eventually die before the phone does. SD card slot: In the event your phone just fails to function you still have access to your files. That is just to name a few, They also have a habit of promoting the phone as being waterproof but in reality they made it more difficult for you to fix your phone as they used very strong glue, So in the event you want to fix your phone you're more than likely to break it. This is planned obsolescence as its finest promoting a downgrade as an innovation in a wasteful society.

If people have issues with the application of the Note's power button, open the Good Lock app, use NavStar and throw another power button into your navigation bar- 'tis what I do down under :) Btw, really great comparison Lexy 😁👍

@Bonnie & Clyde Ride some people don't want to perform 2 steps to shut their screen off. It's purely optional. It sits in the nav bar indefinitely so that you don't have to reach all the way to the top of the screen.
