Ive been playing on a 16gb ram all my adult life. Just for skyrim 32gb ram should be more than enough considering im only using this for gaming right?

As far as I know, you can only get this GPU in the Alienware M18, which is not easy to get in Europe, if it's even available. So we will probably not be able to retest it! Sorry!

What about the 4060 version? How much of a performance drop can be expected from it? I'm looking to get it however in the 1080p & 16 GB RAM configuration with the 4060.

Unfortunately we did not test the 4060 version, but comparing it to a Legion 5 (i7-14650HX) and and Asus TUF A15 (Ryzen 9 8945H) both with 4060s will results in about 20% less performance in our 3D mark rating, while the difference is only minial in our 1080p rating. The Legion is even faster here, thanks to the Intel CPU (these games are usually more CPU bound) In Cyperunk Ultra 1080p its 90 fps for the Omen, and 76 fps for the TUF. So it will vary greatly on the games you are playing, but generally you are looking at 10-15% less performance with a 4060. @@Battax loud as a hellicopter during full gaming loads. keyboard is really hot. My entire room gets hot in like 2 hours playing, so i have to open windows for fresh cold air. The rest seems fine, no blue screens, no glitches, no bugs.

​@@SnowySnails Don't lie to people, just check TPU/HBU or other sites/channels. 10-12GB vram is THE BARE MINIMUM anyone should have in 2024 and into 2025. Just check out Wukong, with FG turned on (which you need, it runs heavy) you are looking at 10GB 1080p and 11GB at 1440p. 14,8GB at 4K with FG, when I tested. Hellblade 2: 8,5GB to 9GB 1080p/1440p. Avatar: 1440p LOW 11GB Ultra 13GB. Alan Wake 2 without/with RT: 11-13GB. What games are you even playing at 1440p is a better question? I recall COD from 2019 wanted 6-8 GB in 1080p.

i got the asus g18 with 14900hx. you review a lot of laptops, have you seen any cases of degeradation or crashing on cpus inside laptops? i can't find a lot of reports on laptops as they seem to be safe. would love to hear if you had any cases from you or the community. also i think the omen series could use a cosmetic lift up, the laptop looks a bit too basic imo.

HP has actually been really good to me last few years. The HP VR Backpack G2 was a beast of a portable workstation that served me well in games for a few years with the laptop RTX 2080. Now I've had a HP Z2 G9 tower with a RX 7900 XT for almost a year now and it's been flawless! (Knock on wood!)

Cuidado con HP,,,No responden en las Garantías,, Mi Omen Laptop Gaming con i5-13420H tuvo el problema de que la CPU se va al 100% de uso por tareas poco exigentes y decidía activar la garantía y el Servicio de HP despues hacer todo lo que me pideron,,quedaron en llamarme,,lo cual nunca hicieron y encima de eso, cuando llamo para reclamar que no me llamaron,,dijeron que había. Cerrado el caso!! Llevo un mes detras de ellos y por mas que paresca increible,,no han resuelto nada!! HP es el peor servicio que hay y lo digo por experiencia!! Tengo mi Omen Laptop de pisa papeles,,ya que no han echo nada!! No compren nada de HP son una estafa!!

Hice un upgrade e instale Windows de cero,pero haciendolo desde la msima Laptop!! No lo hice por un pendrive o una vía externa!! Pero sí,,aun tengo ese problema y no eh podido resolverlo😰.
