I would love a foundation roundup… serum vs skin tint vs fuller coverage. Even compared to your past favorites. There is so many out there and of course your skin type makes a difference. I completely agree with you about adding sunscreens to foundation products. People who are serious about their sunscreen would never rely on a foundation to provide it and many people are sensitive to various sunscreen ingredients or may want to avoid flashback at times. Really pointless at best and possibly a deal breaker for some. I will try to grab a sample-I love lightweight foundation but do have long days and need foundation to last so that aspect really appeals to me.

Agree too - personally I don't like the texture (however minimal0 that sunscreens add - they always feel 'heavier' to me. The fewer chemicals, the better!

Have you thought doing a series about mixing foundations? I do this regularly. It helps when I've messed up my shades. Also mixing different formulations works well for me. Tinted moisturiser with fuller coverage to get the best of both can be great. Just have to remember to use less of each.

As a non-foundation wearer, this was interesting. :) It really did blur better as you wore it - which to me would be a huge plus. Looks very pretty and wore so well. Perfect for long days as you will know that you are going to look better as the day goes on.

I personally love the idea of skincare in foundation. When they came out with their Futurist foundation, my mom and I were excited to try it. Unfortunately, it felt too heavy and didn’t blend into the skin as well. We wound up purchasing Lancôme Renergie Lift, which is a serum foundation with skincare in it. So I was definitely excited to see this new formula in the Futurist line, and I’m thrilled to hear your positive review of it! The desert beige is a little light on you, but it actually looks lovely on your skin. The next shade up would be 3N1 Ivory Beige, which would probably be perfect, but as you go into winter, you will probably find this shade to be ideal. Besides, you made it work with added blush and bronzer.😉 Personally, I prefer a pump to a dropper, but other than that, I think this could be a winner!

2N1 is actually my Estee Lauder shade. This might be a good Winter shade for you. It looks very nice with your makeup. Just like double wear this sounds like a good long wearing foundation.

Futurist in the tube is one of the most gorgeous foundations on my mature skin. This one looks amazing. Problem is I cannot use chemical sunscreens. Same with all Shisiedo ☹️. 🗣Estee Lauder have a sunscreen free version available too!!! They did it with double wear as there was a sunscreen version and thank goodness now it's not

Just tried this foundation today. I also got 2N1, and they def made it lighter. I noticed the same thing with the DW Sheer foundation they released a year or so ago. I even bought that one in shade 3N1 for summertime thinking it would match me better, but it’s a pretty big jump and is much darker so I’ve been mixing. This new one seems to apply best for me with fingers and a little goes a LONG way! It reminds me of the Marc Jacobs serum foundation from years ago that was super full coverage. I never tried it but based on the videos I watched on it I imagine this new one is similar.

Great review! I picked this up yesterday because I love my futurist hydrarescue foundation but want something a bit lighter for days where I don't really want makeup but my skin is looking more red/uneven than I am comfortable with to be truly barefaced in public. Also this is so random but I also got 2n1 because it's seems to be my perfect summer shade lol, yes I am that pale (my winter shade in the hydrarescue is literally 1n0 haha)

This foundation looked nice on you! I saw another content creator use it and she at first used a trusted tinted sunscreen, and it looked patchy so she changed the sunscreen to a different one and it still looked patchy and awful! I wonder if the type of sunscreen she used (chemical vs. mineral) was the culprit! She has normal to oily skin. Would it be possible to remind us what skin type you have when doing foundation? This is such a good reminder for me. And I very much appreciate the feedback. I always forget that some people haven’t heard things. So I repeat certain things over and over and then neglect to repeat other things. I've been playing with this for several days and I definitely had a little bit of a roller coaster relationship with it initially! Your experience is similar to mine; I don't think that this is friendly for textured skin in its initial stages but it looks better as the day wears on. I feel like this is definitely a foundation/ tint that begs for some kind of a blurring primer and powder to really allow it to look its best and last as long as possible. I like it but I don't love it simply because I think it is a little finicky. It's something that I'll reach for if I want a little more glow but it won't be my first choice for something super-long wearing and absolutely reliable.

I would definitely buy a pump for that foundation. I wish they didn't put the spf ingredients in it . I got the new Lancome skincare and glow concealer and I killed the color on the first try 305N . Just letting u know if u buy it it will be a good shade match for u for all over and I would go down one for brighting .

I just wanted to add onto your sentiment about having SPF in.. I know some people might view “added skincare” like SPF, trendy ingredients like niacinimide as “added value”. But I feel like it just increases the chance of skin intolerance. I just wish they would exclude it for most makeup

Absolutely. When people have a reaction to foundation it’s generally some sort of a weird skin care ingredient that, frankly, doesn’t need to be in there. For me, I prefer to do my own skin care, my own SPF and I just want my make up to be make up. I don’t understand it.

It's really useless to put skincare in foundation. Most of us use primer, so it isn't even able to penetrate the skin anyway! As far as SPF, you would have to put an ungodly amount of makeup on to get any type of real sun protection.

I can't wear anything with SPF however, I think it looks very good on your skin, and really, it doesn't look like it's too light. Probably easier to have a lighter foundation and add a little bronzer or blush than one that's too dark making your face 10 shades darker than the rest of your body, or orange. One of your reviewers said you looked great in the Prada foundation, but I see that has 17SPF as well, very low, but still has it. You're right because even sunscreen by itself usually states you should re-apply every two hours for it to be effective and I doubt if anybody wearing foundation is going to do that. I feel some companies cut out a big portion of their customer base by adding it into their products. A lot of people have allergic reactions, me being one of them. You can always put on a separate sunscreen if you need that protection.

I often wonder if sunscreen, in and of itself, is a stabilizer and they just marked it like it’s an added benefit. Does that make sense? Like I sometimes think that the ingredients contained in sunscreen that make our sunscreen hold up well actually have a benefit of making foundation may be smoother or more substantial. And then the marketing department feels like they get to market it as sun protection as well. Does that make sense? Because why is gods name with there be a 17 SPF anything?

So it might just need a little bit of powder if the feeling will make you uncomfortable. I admit that I kind of enjoy that dewy feeling on the skin so it doesn’t bother me but a little bit of powder certainly would not hurt.

Yay!! 🎉🎉 I will add this to a wish list. I don’t need a new foundation just yet. I few months ago I bought the travel size of Armani luminous silk foundation. It’s just such a nice foundation. ( I also have the new Laura Mercier & Guerlain )I find that the hourglass veil skin tint, paired with the hourglass vanish primer, looks better and better as the day goes on. It looks just ok in the morning but by noon it’s looking really good. It’s a pricey combo though. What color do you think you’d need in this Estée Lauder skin tint ? Interesting. I watched Steff’s Beauty Stash last night and it really didn’t work for her. She has an oily t-zone like I do, so I’m going to pass. She said that it didn’t stick to her nose, which is a problem I have (nose and chin). But no foundation sticks to those on me, so I always have to cover with concealer. Don’t ask - its a thing! I haven’t picked up the Shiseido either. The MAC is in my drawer to try. Yesterday I wore the Youth Foria - GORGEOUS!

I wouldn’t go by Steffs video. The 1st try was a disaster, to wear no helping products with her skin type? She’s oily all over. The 2nd time around another long day and I don’t think she touched up at all, not even once…. I’m just saying these points cuz if you wanna try it, try it. You can always use a little concealer on your nose, that works for oil. Return it if you don’t like it. 😊

I detest droppers for makeup! I did finally break down and buy the Gucci highlighter with the dropper and the product itself is lovely, but the dropper irritates me so much. Mine spits out 5x as much product as I ever need. So frustrating. This foundation looks absolutely gorgeous on you, and I’m so tempted. A makeup product that looks better as the day goes on is worth it’s weight in gold! I mean how often do we find that??? I’d even forgive the dropper…but…the spf is a no go for me. I’m one of those that KNOWS spf in foundation breaks me out. (MAC Studio Fix is the only exception.) Why, why, why do they put spf in foundation😭. Those of us that actually care about spf always wear our own and would never rely on spf in foundation. People who don’t wear spf probably don’t care if it’s in there or not! 😭😭😭

I love Estée Lauder Doublewear foundation, which is the only one I have ever tried from the brand. I’m sooo not into skincare in makeup, especially spf. I’m like why bother. I know a lot of folks like that extra bit of skincare on the makeup and i’m sure there are some benefits but it’s not for me. You know i also don’t like my food to touch and eat only one thing at a time, so there is that😂😂😂 I like everything in what I perceive to be it’s place, including makeup and skincare, salty and sweet, and anything on my plate shall not be mixed together😂

I’m extremely reactive and sensitive and can’t use chemical sunscreens either . I use strictly mineral and recommend my clients do the same . Literally no point to SPF in products like this because you are right, you aren’t really getting any protection from the Sun. Spf in makeup is pointless unless you applied the entire bottle lol . I also can’t use any products containing hyaluronic acid . It’s literally in everything these days soooo frustrating . I’m a skincare professional, and it took me years to figure out my triggers to these things . 😢

Helllllooooo! Ysl and Guerlain will be more coverage than the radiant Mac but the Mac is so good for dry skin. Actually, all of those are nice on dry skin. But coverage wise you’re going to get more with something like Estée Lauder, it’s true. It’s just not very trendy. I’m so glad that you got yourself the Hourglass Palette and the Natasha. Single mom, more like single and gorgeous!

I love all of those but of those the ones you mentioned Prada is amazing for medium coverage and always Surratt for light medium. I just don’t like the way the Sarot dispenses. It’s like you have to keep it upside down

Update: I went and tried my shade 2W1 dawn, today. Currently wearing it. It’s a nice foundation. Not too greasy. Just seems to gather up around the nose. But all in all, looks good!

It has a different feel. The sheer foundation is more like a moisturizer really like a really nice tinted moisturizer with a nice kind of light medium coverage. Since this is a serum it sinks into the skin a bit more and feels like nothing is on. A lot different feel on the face.

It does not contain any of the typical names for alcohol and chemical make ups that I know of. That doesn’t mean there’s not some other chemical make up name that I’m not recognizing but the usual suspects that alcohol is called are not present on the ingredient list, if that makes any sense.

I hated it. The sunscreen scent overwhelms me. The technology for a serum like this isn’t even comparable to the ones that are out there. Haus labs even new Lancôme is better than this. The Maybelline serum foundation blows this away. I’m done with EL and I really hoped they’d step it up, but this is not good
