Are the ilia or CT or Merit or Tom ford sticks blurring at all? I think you said the CT one isn’t actually blurring, but just doesn’t make things look worse if I understood you correctly… Usually I will only like a foundation if it blurs pores. Normally I use the Givenchy Prisme Libre skin caring glow foundation.. or the chantecaille future skin foundation.. which both have really good blurring properties to them.. I want to try a stick foundation or a cream, but #1 requirement is the blurred/filtered effect.. I tried to use the Tom ford one last summer, but I ordered a couple of shades claiming to be olive and they were legit pink.. and then I gave up trying to find a shade at all because it was a lot of money in returns and kind of embarrassing to take back to Sephora. I don’t actually need them to be olive, as I have recently found out, I just need like a neutral-yellow undertone and the olive was helping me cancel out redness.
@NotFitforPrintBeauty3 ай бұрын
I totally hear you. There’s this inherent shame in the Sephora return. And that shouldn’t be the case. Are these blurring? Well. The Tom ford a bit but more because it’s more coverage than the formula.

What’s happening with the TF stick foundation? Is it being discontinued or reformulated?? So strange
@NotFitforPrintBeauty3 ай бұрын
It’s like that so often with his other products such as the brow gel. I assume it’s getting discontinued because it goes on sale and then every store has three shades and then, the next week, it’s not on sale and all the stores are restocked. And it feels like every time I get a definite answer is actually really just a rumor.
@jenna-lynroman41273 ай бұрын
I bought the Chantecaille Face Stick to try as a concealer. It seems to work well for that for me. However, I'm not sure if this product is being reformulated or is disappearing. The reviews when I bought it mentioned the small size for the money, which is probably correct if one is using it to cover their entire face. As an unrelated side note, I have been using (and hoarding...I bought 5) of the Chanel Les Beiges Primers. I'm almost done with my second one in the Light Copper shade. Basically, I've been wearing it alone with just a bit of powder on top and no foundation. It counteracts the slight redness on my nose. I'm wondering if at some point you could do a video on products that work great, but perhaps not in the way the brand who made them might have intended.

Oh my goodness oh my goodness. I am looking at my notes right now and I actually have that sketched out from a few months ago. Seriously I just didn’t know what to call it. So.... I have a love/hate relationship with Lancome which made one of the better sticks back when... works well. In Miami's humidity tends to get on the cell phone and no I don't use make up sprays but if I did it probably wouldn't. Bought several over the years, before sticks were popular. It's a great product. And, my favorite is MILK tho I use it more as a touch up in that it actually covers well under the eyes, across the impt spots and leaves a glow w/o the "dolphin" shiny look that's been populare. It just "lightens" covers imperfections incredibly for ppl of all ages. I may check out the Merit next time I'm in Sephora. ps covered the part about the stick that's advertised to give you glow, giving you glow but ppl complain it glows too much :) loved it

I didn't really like the Tom Ford one too much, personally. I'm always on the lookout for good sticks. They're just so easy. My favorite is Tom Ford's, and I hope it's not being discontinued. I still have quite a bit of it left, and I'll be sad when I use it up and can't replace it. I do like the Ilia stick. For once, the shade match is spot-on. Basma's is a pretty good shade match, but the formula can be temperamental. Sometimes, it cakes up in certain areas. The Fenty stick is temperamental as well, collecting in pores on occasion. Ogee makes a good one that provides coverage, but the shade range is pathetic. The lightest shade is a bit too dark on my skin, and I'm not the palest person on the planet. I like Huda's stick, which I mostly wear in the summer because it's slightly drying. I shall pass on the new Charlotte Tilbury stick. Rebecca, you are the only KZbin reviewer who looks good to me wearing it. It's way too glowy for my taste. It actually looked nasty on a few of the people who put it on. I wouldn't want to have to apply as much powder as it would take to make it look decent. There's a new stick out by Yensa that I'm curious about. It's alleged to have good coverage, yet the shade range stinks. I've seen only one review of it so far. Great video, Rebecca! Oh--I tried to join the Facebook group but was rejected. I don't think I scrolled down enough to see that I needed to answer more questions. I hope I'll get another chance.

Hi Rebecca! Thank you for this great stick foundation ranking. Your top pick has been impossible to get here in Canada for a long while - over one year in my shade. One brand that is readily available here and that you did not mention is Westman Atelier - and I am most curious to know how it compares with the TF and your top 2 and 3. On me, the WA is less draggy than the Merit and it’s far less oily than the Basma, which settles into my pores like lava.

This is a great question. I don’t have enough experience with the WA product. I am so hit and miss with her brand. Well generally I wouldn’t respond to this as it’s unfounded but it’s so from left field that I have to respond. I purposely did a review in dim lighting? I have worked with Charlotte in the past and it didn’t go well and I doubt I will ever work with them again. You are very entitled to your opinion and I would never delete your comment but this is wildly inappropriate and off-base. Karen! I never thought of listening to Lancome because no one ever asked me about it even though it really is truly a very good foundation stick. But I left it out of the lineup since it’s not one of the ones I’m most asked about and then it’s appearing all over comments so it’s definitely one to consider. It is indeed a very good product
@karennz10993 ай бұрын
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty I think there is so much out there, newer brands and all of that drowns out the older brands. I think it’s interesting if something is plain good, reminding is a great thing. I really don’t need 27 foundations, but having overall great 5-8 that you like for different reasons is the way I look at. It’s funny that for instance I love the TF stick but don’t grab it all the time, maybe because it is so expensive. That’s dumb of me. Same with Prada foundation which is my favorite liquid for more coverage, more special occasions. I’m definitely going to look into Lacome stick since it has been around awhile, tested over time.

That is a great one. I was tempted to include it but for some reason I’m never asked about it in comments. It’s funny though because I left it out because of that and now I’m getting a ton of comments about it.

Yes, I really do like Fenty stick (and mostly in the cooler months or in all-day indoor AC if it's summer, as you talked about), but I have to powder it down, for sure. I am very oily in the t-zone and oily all over in summer, but it's not a problem with the right powder and I'm in AC environment. I don't like full coverage or heavy foundation, so I really do like it for a natural look and an everyday work look. Also, I am very pale and I find shade 2 to be perfect. I don't have any other Fenty products but I really do like it and I will re-purchase in autumn.

I also think you would end up liking the Charlotte because you like the Fenty. So when you run out you might want to give it a try if you feel like something new

@@NotFitforPrintBeauty Thanks! But I'm wondering how it does with sunscreen of all types, esp ones with silicone, because I'm super pale and have to load up on sunscreen. If anyone actually puts the recommended amount of sunscreen on their face and then uses the new CT stick, please let me know how it does!

10:20 you're absolutely right. I didn't pay full attention to the LONG name of the product. It says it's sheer and glowy. Yet I overlooked that and so was one of those who was thinking "it's too sheer - it's too glowy". I just tune out the names from this brand 😂😂

A really comprehensive yet concise review. I just wish since many will use a stick foundation on the go that it came with some sort of brush on the end. Difficult to keep clean I suppose.
@NotFitforPrintBeauty3 ай бұрын
Was it Anastasia who did a brush on one of their once? No it was urban decay, wasn’t it? But it was kind of hard to clean.

Notable mentions which weren't covered in your round up Rebecca, the Huda Beauty one is nice, really easy to blend and seamlessly melds into skin, though it looks like it might be getting discontinued. The Westman Atelier is amazing too - though the shades are limited, more greasy than Huda but lovely when set with powder.

I love your chocolate cake analogy when talking about the new CT stick. The people complaining about it are people who should have read the description of what the product is. I did. And that’s exactly why I had zero interest in purchasing.
@NotFitforPrintBeauty3 ай бұрын
Exactly, Kim! People are complaining about it because it’s glowing. Which is an odd thing to have as a complaint for a glowing foundation. I’m not saying it’s the best thing since sliced bread. It definitely is not. But… We do have someone here who says it made them break out and I am with them on 100%. That’s definitely a negative
