the 7HZ Timeless works well with the fiio UTWS5 if you want to convert them to wireless.. they fit in the case fine while charging

I adore the 7hz Timeless OG and I got the AE yesterday. 1/ I wanted a second pair since I plan some experiments; 2/ hoped for some improvements like more sub-bass, less recessed vocals. Well, I got it - sub-bass is already slightly more, mid-bass a spec more but enough to make bass guitars and drums fuller, male vocals are more textured, slightly warmer. But even more treble is more liquid w/o loosing details and airiness and even cleaner.

No Theme - Very good review. How would this stack up against the newer Timeless AE? I'm deciding to buy this (the regular Timeless). I listen to mainly Classical orchestral music, and jazz. Is this good that genre? Is the Timeless still relevant in 2023 or should I wait for the next planar to come out ( probably in the nest few weeks) knowing how ChiFi issues new products?

I don't have the AE so I can't compare. There's no headphone or IEM made specifically for a genre of music; you can use whatever suits you. I don't see why the Timeless couldn't sound good with your music, but that will just come down to your preferences. As for waiting...sure, you could.

I have the Timeless and I really like it. I think the bass is just right for my taste, vocals are great, the treble has enough spark for my genre of music. I listen mostly Tool, Rage Against the Machine, Gojira, Metallica, sometimes jazz and Daft Punk. I really like the presentation of this iem. What I feel is lacking in the Timeless is soundstage depth. The width is enough for my taste but I feel it lacks depth allot. How does it compare to iems till 250 dollars range for soundstage depth and general technicalities? Any recommendations, highly appreciated!

Sadly, price is a terrible indicator for technicalities. For example, the cheap Tin T2 has wider soundstage than some $300 IEMs. As for your specific question about soundstage depth and general technicalities, it's all over the place. The only thing I've found in all the IEMs I've tested is that very few actually try to render depth and width, to say nothing about verticality. I'm afraid I can't recommend anything that sounds like the Timeless but has more soundstage extension.

No, it's not particularly good. Foam eartips are better, but the nozzle does not insert far enough for effective isolation. The DT770 is better at it, IMO

Hard to say. It will depend on the amount of amplification your device outputs-and that’ll differ. Generally, it should be enough. If you need more power, a simple dongle Dac might do the trick. There are plenty for under $50, and I’d suggest looking at the Ikko ITM01 first. I made a video about that many months ago, so maybe check that out.

7hz timeless is 104db and 14.8ohm. its enough. but yeah if you want to destroy your ear over time, go with a useless amp to think "it sounds better". Dont let ever tell you by a audiophile (audiofool) that you "need" a amp, its rather a "want". look at the data sheet. you dont "need" a amp and 7hz timeless its completely fine without a dumb amp, save your money bro

The thing that I thought was different from my experience with the timeless is that the bass was absolutely bass head level. The bass was like this big warm blanket of thick rumble. I like that about it because the treble was also extremely clear if not a little sharp. Yes it has planar timbre. It’s like it has a soft presentation while still remaining very fast around notes. It is very unique. The imaging killed it for me. It was really wonky. The included tips weren’t my favorite even though you have a lot of options. Azla crystal standard are normally my favorite. I’ve heard a lot about unit variation so I did some sine sweeps and driver matching tests. Nothing sounded off to me but I just don’t think the timeless is all that great for me even though I can see some people loving it.

You never mentioned what ear tips you used? I can say I didn't really like mine with Silicone Tips and that goes for most of my IEMs. You want bass with the Timeless get a good set of Foam Ear Tips on them that seal tightly and you'll get it but it won't be bloated sounding while loosing nothing else. Amping wise I run mine on Medium gain with my A30 Pro being fed by an SU-9n set to line out via balanced with listenable levels between 11 to 1 on the A30. These are beyond a shadow of a doubt my favorite IEMs to date in their price range as well as a little above it and they obviously beat anything below it. I put them on par with my Sundara's as far as overall sound minus some sound stage of course..

@@NoThemeReviews So not foam tips then? Try "Mountains" with foams and I bet you'll hear more of the rumble as they change pretty much everything about the Timeless. Vocals move back into the center stage where they should be as well as no more very pronounced sub-bass roll off. Great review don't get me wrong. I simply wanted to try and help you hear what I hear from the Timeless. I use either Dekoni foams because they're the softess black foam tips I've found or the Blue Marshmallows of Joy, (as I call them), that come with the Tin T2s. You can now buy those on Amazon. You'll get 3 pairs for $9.95 which is cheap for them considering how good they are. Their only downside is they only come in medium I think...

Been so deep down the rabit hole i ended up here.. been thinking about these now, or fiio FH3's some ppl are raving about those others put them in a B tier. Have you tought about putting up a Ranking doc, with the footsteps and all those other tests you do! Then when you get more traction maybe a patreon or something will show up or someone that is able to code this for you and set it up like you want. Ive done some more learing. As someone who also games with his IEM's soundstaging appartently is important lol The timeless have a wide but shallow stage and thats them out lol.. Any ones i should check out with a huge spherical soundstage? i use em for gaming, video's, music, and work..

I've yet to find an IEM that replicates a "spherical" soundstage. Unfortunately, I don't know any that could suffice.

excelent review as always. I had mine since October 2021. The shell glue failed and it came apart. Was an easy fix though. the actual driver takes less than 50% of the shell.

hey how did you find the mmcx connector quality is it still working flawless? any audio cuts if you move the cable little intentionally? I am really scared to get this just because of mmcx and my previous experience

@@datdudeinred no problem at all, but is not guaranteed it won't fail in the future. If you are scared of mmcx then go for the shuoer s12, planar iem, similar detail retrieval, a bit more V-shaped and 2pin conector. also cheaper.

Why the constant comparison with the Quarks. How are they relevant at this price?

Price has nothing to do with sound signature or performance. The Quarks have a neutral signature which provides a consistent basis of comparison against any other IEM. When people only compare expensive gear against expensive gear, they run the danger of overspending and inflating the performance beyond what it might actually be.

So the hype is true? idk but this is my experience using my own ears (but remember I have human ears, and we all know human ears are a very lousy sound measurement device); I got the Timeless and did extensive AB testing with my Dusk, (matching volume was a difficult bias I had to fight, and the AB testing had to be as fast as possible), well the process took several session in several days, but every time , the timeless beat the Dusk, he clarity of mids was something the Dusk could not match; later I got the Monarch MKII, and after another extensive AB testing the Monarch sounded better, but just slightly. Frequently after each session i had the thought "both sound great! but I think the Monarch may sound a little better" In the other hand the Timeless were more comfortable, and for some reason i can get a seal way faster than the Monarch, I can use the Timeless way longer. So this IEM hold his ground against another very well reviewed IEM that cost 5 times more, yeah in my book that is a Hype.

Thin sounding, bass muddy and lacking, no punch or wow factor / differences vs BAs and dynamic drivers, soundstage accuracy is really all over the place. Sold it after a week of testing.
