I remember when OnePlus introduced Nord 1. It was the best of the best of the best and unique above all phone then and there...In reality, there was a minimum of 5 competitors with similar pricing(and cheaper). When marketing is so aggressive about something-for me it is such a red flag.

@@gorans9756 the primary reason was probably because they were trying to touch on a market that was essentially held by in a vice grip by Xiaomi and Poco which are recognizable even by higher end buyers as bang for your buck even with the whole ads issue in their cheaper models

This. I am not an NFC fan but at this price a 3.5mm would go a long way, esp. since the phone has expandable storage, so it could serve as a great "secondary" phone for the gym/running/whathaveyou, where, at the end, if something happened, 250 quids would be a much easier pill to swallow than a full upper-mid phone price.

I love that Genshin is becoming a common gaming test alongside the usual racing games, but there’s Wuthering Waves now that pushes it further with that amazing lighting engine and high fps on some hardware! Definitely a great budget choice that I hope gets supported for a while. I personally would feel more the lack of wireless charging than nfc but it’s not a big deal overall. Thanks for this great review!

I'm so impressed at what this phone is doing for £200, I bought a galaxy A15 only a few months ago for £100 thinking that was a good budget phone but i'm honestly thinking about just selling it for cheap and moving onto the cmf 1 and using that for a few years, love that you can swap out the shell too once you get some scratches or fancy a new colour.

NFC is a deal breaker. I mean you will probably be able to get a card attachment for the back that lets you use contactless, but it’s not exactly secure. So for that reason alone this is the first nothing product I wouldn’t recommend probably if you do use contactless.

Shame that charging bricks are considered a separate accessory these days. I mean don't get me wrong this phone is interesting, different from your boring slab of phones + the easy to remove back cover + the SD card capability, but having to omit the charger is a major flaw.

I don't mind, as long as they sell the charger for a reasonable price. When I upgraded from a Pixel 3a to a 7 they still used pretty much the same charger (18W to 21W) so I just carried on using my old one.

I'd reckon that the lack of NFC is because of the swappable back and not because of the cost, it would've most likely been hard to do NFC without the need to unplug a cable or it being exposed when someone tries to swap the back

Some nice ideas but no NFC is a massive deal breaker for most people; I use my phone for everything. Also why allow easy access to the battery and then have a tamper tab and still no super easy swap over method? Weird. Some good and then some weird decisions.

To begin with I wanted that hot orange because I could NEVER lose my phone, I often add a wrist strap anyway. However carrying a RESCUE me ORANGE beacon full would soon get old. Waterproof phones are now normal for me & this one isn't. Why not make the battery easy to replace????? It's so obvious!
