Thank you so much for watching and enjoying this video! It makes me so happy to see Oona and Gage's skating reaching a massively deserved audience. We filmed one more routine this day that I will be editing and posting soon, but in the meantime, do check out Oona and Gage Brown's GoFundMe page for their training season here: gf.me/u/zbu2q5. Even though many national and all international competitions have been cancelled this season, that hasn't stopped them from continuing to train, in the hopes they can qualify for Junior Worlds next year and possibly earn a spot at the Olympics one day. Again, that GoFunMe link is here! gf.me/u/zbu2q5

I was wondering if during a skating performance an audience helps or hurts with regards to applause and such getting in the way of the music. Terrific skating by these 2. It is mentioned in the description that they had to pay for the ice time. Kinda surprising since the bank that pays for the naming rights of the area could certainly afford to do so and while yeah during a lot of the routine not much of the background is in focus, things do slow down enough that you can see their logo on the wall and in the ice. So they would get the publicity for doing a good deed. But, alas, twas not to be. Oh well.

But they also have automated multi-cameras which seamlessly looks like it's the same frame when it's not I've also been to those ice capades shows years ago - when a skater falls, they have them come out after the show and redo those sections of there choreography so when it goes on TV it looks perfect I'll tell you that I walked a NYC runway decades ago - you would never recognize me - I didn't... As someone who has no idea of ice skating, why would it be national level? Yeah it was super cool but wouldnt they also habe to do jums and stuff like that?
@ChaosAngel13313 жыл бұрын
@@shy8311 I think it's mostly their coordination. It looks super easy but it is really difficult to be as fluid as they are here and not trip over your partners boots and stuff. The jumps aren't too complex but bear in mind he has to move smoothly while bearing her weight and do turns which puts a good amount of pressure on your leg. It's so easy to mess up jumps to and spins, the closer or farther away from the ground are very hard to do without slipping as you can fall if not done at the right angle and injure yourself. It's all the centre of balance thing to as you have to make it look good while skating which can get in the way if your being technical about jumps and timing, especially in doubles as timing jumps is a good portion of the marks. Being able to do all this with minimal mistakes is certainly national level skating. Some professionals struggle with this in their 20s and 30s in professional skating yet they were able to do it so well. I would love to do this but sadly had to quit due to injuries, very impressed at their work. Sorry for the rant though

@@fe5018 Passion and Chemistry aren't solely romantic aspects. It's such a shame how that's the automatic default these days. That's another reason why I especially love this routine and this duo: they're fueled by a sense of intimacy that isn't often portrayed in skating. The vast majority of professional figure skating pairs always have this tinge of romantic and wondrous tension in their dynamic, their routines and their costumes, even if the relationship the skaters themselves share is completely platonic and/or professional. With this brother-sister team, we have a pair with a loving essence that almost nobody would mistake for romance, so they're not only delivering medal-worthy routines, they're flipping the stereotype upside down of romantic affection being the most prevalent affection, or the only kind of affection allowed, to be hinted at in the sport, or that the strength of sibling and familial love could never hold up to romantic love.

You can't do type of footage with a cell phone or just a professional video/camera. It must be mounted on some type of gimbal. The footage would be too shaky and make some people feel nauseated. Being on skates of course helps with the stabilization of the footage.
