In the second and final part, Steven and Jason look at more songs The Beatles wrote about each other. Starting at the end of 1971, Paul McCartney’s Dear Friend was the first musical peace offering. After the death of John Lennon, these songs evolved into tributes and warm reminiscences.

Not Guilty is a pretty good song. On my ultimate mix of the White album, I include Not Guilty and removed Revolution 9 and Wild Honey Pie .

He visited George's wife, they were still together when Clapton was sniffing around. Indeed he was for years before the Harrison's divorce.

I believe John wrote Nowhere Man about Paul. I believe Paul wrote Paperback Writer about John.

Not Guilty was first released as a new reworked version on George's self-tilted 1979 album. Despite the 100 plus takes the original version wasn't great, it felt ploddy and flat. The fact they tried over 100 takes seems to lay waste to the myth the band not giving his songs a decent go. And McCartney actually helped him with each of his recordings with great contributions (bass, guitar,piano, harmonies), whilst Lennon barely bothered turning up for his later songs.
