Could you tell me how are the videos on NP2a for you? To be honest on other reviews I've never seen this issue, but here with videos I am terrified. Are they that bad? When running, with the cars - what was the camera doing? It looks terrible. On other reviews I have never seen Nothing videos like these. I saw problem with color changing from time to time, but never this kind of video (it seems like Moto 50).

@@nielsjunker1487 I have a phone (2). And even though I overpaid for it, (800€ from a carrier...) I'm satisfied. the software is incredible and hands down the best part. My only real issue is the cameras, I expect them to be a bit better but they're just hit or miss. When they hit, they're great, but when they miss they miss bad. I wouldn't buy the Phone (2) (or any nothing phone) if cameras are your #1 priority, for that a pixel or upper-range samsung should be ideal. For me, the software experience makes up for the lacking cameras.

You can only switch between cameras on the 2a while recording at 1080p sadly Also the video stabilization on my 2a seems to work much better than yours, no clue what's the problem there

To be honest cant see much difference between the two... I thought Pixel 8a would be MILES ahead but in real life it's simply... pixel peeping - nothing major. You have to keep one thing in mind: Nothing is fairly new to the smartphone scene. It will take them some time to understand their own strategy, and one must not keep them out. They are figuring out a lot of their things whereas Pixel already has a lot things figured except their useless chipset.

The exposure, brightness and white balance sliders on pixels are next to useless . If you do make any alterations the processing overrides this , so no point in making the adjustments.

The Nothing phone 2A is not comparable, but it is impressive nonetheless. For me, the 2A also takes a MAJOR win in the image quality of the 1080p front video vs the Pixel 8A's 4k front video. No, the 2A's front video doesn't have the dynamic range or the stability, but the image looks SO much sharper.

If people can hold out and wait a tad bit longer (for example black friday, I guess?) it's "safe" to assume Pixel 8a will get cheaper as the new Pixel 9 is coming out, either that or the standard Pixel 8 will get cheaper, at which point there's no comparison. I'm gonna be honest here: until I saw your video I was about to buy the Nothing phone 2a. Overall it seems like an amazing phone but all those "limitations" make me feel like using the camera will be frustrating. The jittery effect on videos is horrendous, the overexposure is horrendous, everything else is actually pretty good, but we're in 2024... not being able to switch field of view, of tweaking photo settings, why? Pixel 8a also has all the features you mentioned... surely it's not the best when it comes to OTHER things but I doubt the Nothing would be much better anyway (save maybe for the battery life) So yet again, if the Pixel gets cheaper than it is right now then the choice is easily made... (it's even smaller which for me is a huge plus) but if it doesn't and people need a nice all around phone then maybe Nothing 2a could be the winner, but only if the Pixel doesn't sink in price...
