Love to see Insanity on a list like this. I feel like it used to be such a popular level back in the day but nowadays you rarely see people talk about it which is a shame since it has aged incredibly well. Also Serponge doesnt get enough credit for his gameplay, its really fun.

A level that I really like is Asadal. Honestly the Universe Gauntlet in general is one of my favorite gauntlets, but Asadal in particular is just peak. The fact that THREE levels in it are among my favorites, and the other two (Pabrik and Lutetia) I still really like, shows that despite the duds the gauntlets have like WANNACRY or Metal Magic, there's a shit ton of amazing levels like these.

I was honestly surprised when I saw Neuf Cercles here. I just found the level a day ago when searching levels with that song and I inmediately loved it. I only heard the first part of the song and it was already good, but the buildup and the drop paired with the fast gameplay made me feel really excited. I haven't beat it yet but I definitely will

BRAINPOWER by BrainETR is honestly the most underrated level of all time IMO, and it's a medium demon, so I may as well mention it here :L Absolutely flawless gameplay, the beginning cube and ball timings are extremely creative, and the dual is probably my single favorite piece of gameplay in the game, it's just executed so well. The last wave isn't my favorite, but it's still fun, and the last cube where you have to hit toggle orbs for the jump indicators was a really fun concept. I love BRAINPOWER a lot but very few people know about it, easily my favorite medium demon.

the second i saw hell at #10 i instantly thought about insanity. that level’s really nostalgic for me so i picked it as a first medium demon and tbh i couldn’t have picked something better. i agree with everything you said about it, but i still think there’s two mediums i like more. one’s called no way out by domiangeli and the other is nostalgic journey by team throwback. they’re both xl levels, at just over 2 minutes so i’d check them out!

Dude, ledge is probably one of the most forgettable levels i've ever played. It was actually so cool when I first saw it on Nexus' channel (I ended up beating it myself), but it was such a cool level to play and look at. I'm really glad that someone refreshed my memory of that level because the only thing i knew about the level was the creator having "potato" in its name. If I ever remembered about ledge, I would've replayed it a lot since that dual is definitely one of the coolest and fun duals I've ever played (and I also love dual gameplay).

Here are my top 10 favorite medium demons (my opinion): 10: Rafabirds (8/10) Only problem is the transitions and some ball parts, but everything else is amazing. 9: WELL RESTED (8.2/10) Amazing deco and gameplay but got a little salty trying to beat it. 8: Existential Crisis (8.3/10) Surprisingly loved the level aside from the second half carry, but it could be me just fluking it from 0%. 7: Evolutionary Theory (8.9/10) Amazing story & gameplay but would've been perfect if it wasn't second half carried, but I could see why. 6: A Memorable Note (9/10) Zoroa is a hit or miss, but this is my favorite Zoroa level by far. 5: Nostalgic Journey (9/10) Amazing how it capsulates the 1.0 style and has mostly great gameplay. 4: Two the Top (9.2/10) Loved it mainly because of the gameplay. 3: A Creators Journey (9.3/10) Love this because of how amazing the story is. 2: 163 (9.6/10) Love the atmosphere, the fractals, and the gameplay surprisingly. 1: Overchannel (9.8/10) My favorite because of how AMAZING the duals are!

My favorite Medium Demons are: Iridescent Glee, Cant Let Vulc, Mega Buster, and Save As. I need to finish off Save As though. I want to add to HeLL that I think the level has perfect song representation with both the gameplay and decoration working perfectly to represent it. Also, I want to get on my soap box to say this: 2.0 levels are good, yall just are too scared to play them. A lot of 2.0 levels are dumb and have a lot of stupid ideas, but trust me that a lot of them can still be fun regardless. This also applies to 1.9 levels. What I feel that a lot of old creators did that didn't hack verify there levels, they just mafe gameplay that felt right for them and went with that. Sometimes that would lead to bad gameplay, however, a lot of times that led to some genuinely fun gameplay. I implore more people to try out levels, because even if they do suck, you can usually get a good laugh out of them.

I dont play medium demons all that much since easy demons are easier to grind and hard demons are where challenge really starts for me, but here's a list anyway: 10. hand eyelids by viot (amazing and weird and cool level) 9. electric algal bloom (recent ncs gauntlet entry which got 1st in my heart) 8. moonflowers (just a really cool level overall) 7. lightopolis (incredibly fun and pretty level that was somehow made in the 2.0 editor????? idk) 6. sayitback (amazing effect thing with divisive but imo great gameplay) 5. well rested (everyone knows what well rested is) 4. dumal by mirugene (rhythm based 2p level which is pretty much the most fun ive ever had playing any level) tied for first: as reality falls by terraform (amazing xxl, great atmosphere, great deco, great gp, great everything), till doomsday by tesseract (one of the most unique levels ever made imo and the finale to a great series), and cant let vulc (just overall amazing gp) honorable mentions: section, brainpower, swiggity swooty (yeah), jam factory, gy, 1 train, viox, new light, carpe lucem highly recommend all of these! (also feel free to share your opinions i wanna hear people either give me immense praise or yell at me for being stupid)

Was cool to see a Nuclear Nacho level on this list. I have always considered them the "best worst" creator because of their fun gameplay and classic 2.0 design. Honestly It's hard for me to say my favorite Medium Demon because I just don't play a ton of them anymore but I feel like Dem Travel is probably my favorite. I beat it WAY back in the day and I hated XXL levels at that time but that level was super engaging in both gameplay and decoration and I don't think it's aged at all.

I LOVE Medium Demons, they're either really good and the perfect difficulty, or really bad but easy enough to just be super funny. My top 5 favourite medium demons has some of my favourite demons in general: 1. Lights Out (P0LARnt) 2. Lutetia 3. Bungle 4. Existential Crisis 5. BLINDSPOT I will say though, to the two circles levels on the list, both of them shouldn't be medium demon and Invisible Light (from my experience of beating it a week ago) is insanely flukeable because the wave is like Problematic difficulty. I guess that could make it pretty fun, but I didn't think it was too special honestly. Best medium demon circles level is probably Solar Circles, and I do find it pretty overrated, but it's still really fun.

I really feel like nerve control/ xxl levels really define the demon difficulty, and I feel much more relieved after say beating the long walk home by renn than error by ilsane. Operation evolution showed me that even though I suck at nerve control, I really love levels that are long and require effort

I thought invisible light was just alright, but we all have that one level that we like probably a bit too much for reasons we can't entirely justify, so it makes sense. I saw other people posting their top 10s, so here's mine: 10. Wannacry (kira9999) 9. Mechanical Showdown (Tongii) 8. Crisis Complex (Lemons) 7. Nitrogen (vlacc) 6. BLINDSPOT (tricipital) 5. Toxic Sewers (Superopi) 4. red dart (4chairs) 3. InsanitY (Serponge) 2. Golden Hope (MagPipe & more) 1. System32 (oleki) Wannacry has excellent song representation & extremely well-executed theming, which is why I like it so much. It's also incredibly memorable imo, which is why it's in my top 10. However, the gameplay is kind of questionable & far too obscured by the deco sometimes. I'm well aware that I would probably like this level a lot less if I had played it when I was at a medium demon skill level, but I'm far enough above that to where I thought the gameplay was fine after a couple practice runs. It was noticeably kind of awkward though. I vibe a lot with the decoration in Mechanical Showdown, and the gameplay is pretty fun once you learn it. The wave part is also really fun. Overall, it's just a well-crafted level. I like Crisis Complex for a similar reason to Mechanical Showdown, but its gameplay flows better than MS's and I like the decoration more so it goes above MS. It also used to be a hard demon but was pretty easy for a hard demon, so it could probably go either way. I also like Nitrogen for a similar reason to MS and CC, and honestly like it about as much as CC. The gameplay is a bit more awkward than CC's at times & it falls off a bit towards the end, but I'm a massive vlacc stan so it goes above CC on the list. The two are probably interchangeable though. BLINDSPOT is a (mostly) all-wave level with a cool gimmick. I won't spoil it entirely, but I normally don't like low-visibility gameplay but I found that I really enjoyed it in this level because of the well-executed gimmick. It does have a kind of boring segment about halfway through the level that drags on for too long though, which is why it isn't higher. Toxic Sewers is an absolute classic & a banger. The level perfectly matches the energy of the song, and fun gameplay & a banger song is really all you can ask for. I still don't like that mirror portal transition though, you probably know the one. red dart is a really interesting wave-only level. I'm a sucker for fun wave parts, and this level is basically entirely a fun wave part so it goes very high on the list. The song is also a banger & is represented pretty well, & it does a lot of interesting things that you don't see done too often in other wave levels, especially not medium demons. InsanitY has absolutely impeccable vibes and is hands down my favorite XL medium demon. The song representation and sense of progression you get when playing from 0 are incredible, & I unironically get chills when the first drop ends and the level transitions into the sky islands section and matches the shift in the music perfectly. The gameplay is a bit awkward and unbalanced though, which prevents this level from being higher on the list although it still places extremely well at 3rd. I think you've already said most of what there is to say about Golden Hope. It's goofy and fun in concept, gameplay, and execution, and I love it in all of its shitpost-y glory. System32 is basically a combination of all of the good parts of every other level on this list. A deco style I really like, incredibly fun gameplay, good song representation, a really fun wave part, and it uses one of my favorite songs on top of that. I can't not love this level. It's not a completely perfect level, as the deco can be a bit eyestrain-inducing at times and imo it would be better if it was longer, but it gets very close and fits my personal taste in levels to a T. Absolute banger of a level, and is basically completely unknown. Please play this. Honorable mentions: Acid Rush II (Serponge), Retrograde (Codex), No Time to Die (MrSpaghetti & more), and The Demolisher (Manix648 & Irondofus). Retrograde was my previous #10 before Wannacry for reasons similar to the others in the top 9-7 (and is honestly a much better level, I'm just biased towards Wannacry because I like the theming so much). Acid Rush II has some incredibly strong sections but the quality (in both deco and gameplay) is pretty inconsistent. No Time to Die is probably an easy demon tbh (it took me 23 attempts) & kind of suffers from megacollab syndrome but to a lesser extent than Acid Rush II but with less high highs and less low lows. It's overall still a great level with really fun gameplay, but it didn't leave as much of a lasting impact on me as any other level on this list. The Demolisher is just a random, rather middle of the road 2.0 level that I like too much. It has a certain charm to it that drew me in at first sight, and was one of the first levels that I really had to grind to beat. It was one of the levels that caused me to take the game more seriously and served as an entry point into demon grinding/climbing the demon ladder, so it's special to me. If not for this level, my hardest would probably be Decode and I might not still be playing this game 10 years after I first picked it up. However, it's kind of just an ok level (although it's an above average 2.0 level imo, especially for when it came out) when I try to look at it from a neutral point of view, so I can't comfortably place it in my top 10. Edit: I forgot Casino Blitz existed but that level is absolutely goated, could definitely replace any of the levels on my list from top 10-6

Nice list! Here are my top 10 favorite medium demons (I think medium demons are overhated in general lol) 10. Guardian: An underrated bossfight demon by Lazerblitz. It may seem annoying since bossfight, but trust me its VERY consistent when u learn it. 9. WANNACRY: I’m aware you don’t like this one, and I can see why, but its really only the first part thats bad imo. The rest of the level is very easy and gets very consistent once you learn it. I also really like the themeing of a computer virus overall, and there are some awesome details included like the forever bound reference during the drop. 8. Phaser: A very unknown yet underrated level imo, some of the best faced paced gameplay you’ll get from medium demons. Crazy to think this came out in 2.0 7. Dry Bones: Even though it probably deserves hard demon, this level is still really cool, I love how chilled back it is,especially with the beige theme. The slow paced vibe fits dry bones as a character well 6. InsanitY: A 2.0 classic, gameplay and deco both hold up so well, only bad thing is a couple of chokepoints. Nice to see it on your list as well! 5. -Sirius-: Again, I’m aware you don’t like this one… but I can’t help it! Its one of the most iconic boss designs in the game, and even the whole memory part is very easy when you learn it 4. Ultra Violence: Iconic Xender Game boss, need I say more? 3. System Split: Such a classic, and nostalgic 1.9 demon, an excellent entry level for getting into medium demons as well. 2. Deepdive: Legendary rated, has super fun gameplay and very interesting, detailed decoration. My favorite part being the eel chasing you. Also does a great job of representing a remix of a song I’m not too fond of. (only criticism is the middle parts being strangely out of sync). 1. Reanimation: C’mon, this one is just too iconic. I was mega obsessed with this level back in 2015, and much like Death Moon, it holds up incredibly well. Such a blast to play through as well, the song rep is just amazing. Crazy to think we both have it at our top 😭 Btw will you do 10 favorite hard demons soon?

I haven’t beaten a lot of the “Quintessential Really Good Medium Demons” like Reanimation, Theory of Skrillex, or SAVE AS, so I have a pretty questionable list. Here goes: Honorable mention goes to Fire Temple because I think that level will be re-rated to Hard Demon soon. At least I hope. If it stays medium, it would get #5 on the real list. 5. red dart by 4chairs. This is only really here by happenstance, because most of the other medium demons I’ve beaten kinda suck. I found the dual less fun than the part with the big toggle orb. The gimmick of this level’s creation is pretty neat, and I _am_ completely wave carried, but I don’t particularly care for the gameplay. I don’t actively dislike it, except for the 36% blind click, but the gameplay just feels like “OK, that sure did happen.” It does look nice, also. It looks like something I’d make. 4. SCAM OF THE CENTURY by cerufiffy. The deco is fantastic. The humor is decent, it does its job I guess. The gameplay is wack, though, and it fluctuates a lot between “cool” wack and “why would you ever make this” wack. I disagree with the coin placement, but perhaps it has to do with the theme. The best aspect of this level is the theme, by the way. It’s important that I said “theme,” not “theming,” because there’s very little cohesion between parts. I see this as a positive; I’ll always love levels like What is it by Booglee, where every part looks totally different, but that is an important distinction. The level also has the best endscreen of any GD level ever in history, so that’s nice. 3. pain plant by 2003devin. Now is a good time to mention that song choice is very important to me. That’ll become important later. So this level has an amazing song: “Korn ft legacey: right now.” The song is literally some dude rapping over a Korn song, but somehow it perfectly fits with all the machinery in the beginning and end, and the hostile atmosphere brought on by the whole level, but mostly the middle. (It’s also worth noting that my music taste is terrible.) The gameplay feels very anti-player, but still fun. WHErwin describes what I mean better when he talks about Acropolis in his Top 50 Insane Demons video. What holds this back is the 2003devin-isms, like the false paths, or the transition into the wave. Those can be learned, though. I can look past them. 2. downside city by 2003devin. Here’s a familiar face, eh? I’ve always adored 2003devin’s “alika” style of building. Every object feels like it has purpose. The dedicated background feature in the editor is used to actually be the background, something you never see anymore. I can tell devin had a lot of fun building this, and I can also tell I had a lot of fun playing it. The 2003devin-isms are kept to a minimum, there’s only really one in the second-to-last ship part. I don’t even know what “downside city” means, but the level really makes me feel like I’m in a downside city. And lastly, the art is funny. The only reason this is at number 2 is that the number 1 spot is better, not that this level is worse. I worded that really clunky, I hope you understand. 1. DOLBIT NORMALNO by MaFFaKa. The decoration is nice, it has lovely song representation and a great song in general (please listen to it on your own. it used to be my favorite song, full stop) but above all else, the gameplay is just really good! The bit with the hammers should not be fun, but it very much is. The spider is a standout, personally, and even the dual is great, which is the part everyone dogs on for some reason. The only bit I have negative things to say about is the bridge between the first two parts, with the blue-haired guy. It’s a bit over the top and edgy, which is rich coming from me because those are the two adjectives that describe me best, but, ehhhh… (I also find it funny that this part has glitchy effects in the background considering the creator supposedly advertised knockoff MegaHack trojans. Haha…) The level is still absolutely amazing. It’s my favorite demon of all time, if I remember correctly. Levels like Death Moon might be better objectively, but I’m personally, I guess a good word is “biased,” to this level. Sorry for writing a whole dictionary. I tend to do that.
