Well done! This is exactly how I’m building my Life OS Project and Task management system. One nuance is instead of a planning view with a status field, I use the time aspect of the Do Date field. Great job!

hello super helpful content but i am a beginner so I am having to listen at .5 the speed. Im wondering how I set recurring tasks if I don't have the list you pasted at 8:52

I really love your videos, great info and production value. How would this be adapted for working with teams and larger concurrent projects with hundreds of tasks a piece?
@akshayrhallur
@akshayrhallur Жыл бұрын
Hello Christian, thanks a lot for the comment. Glad you loved my craft. To answer your query: To maximize Notion's task manager in a team setting, you need to integrate it with databases such as team members, roles, and wiki docs. This will provide more ways to filter and query data. For example, create a team member database and link it to tasks to see who's working on what. Also, create a wiki document database and link it to tasks to ensure all relevant information is available. I've built CoreSystem as a foundation on which you can build more complex systems. You can book a free discovery call with me (if you need to get my inputs on this) - cal.com/akshayhallur/notion-discovery-call

I replicated your entire video, how do I save a project with its sub tasks in a place so I can use them later. For example I make burgers pizza and pastas I've created a process for all three in project data base but I don't have orders for all three at the same time, say the order is for pizza and pasta so now I want to save the burger project somewhere and then when I have an order for burger I want to use that project. The video is brilliant thanks!

You can manage it in the Projects page with tasks written in bullets. When the project comes, you can drag them in. Or use Notion buttons for adding tasks on demand. Watch this section - kzbin.info/www/bejne/d3_EaaiQfsh0iKs Thanks, buddy.

following all the steps but at 15:13 the 'project name' is not showing up in the list in order to create the filter you are suggesting for the self referential filter

I have followed every step, but when I add something in the 'No Do Date' section. It doesn't show anything in the upcoming view. It shows but in the All table views. Could you let me know how I can fix this issue?

I noticed you only used the Status function with a project progress. What is the benefit of using Type instead of Status when tracking the progress of an individual task?
@akshayrhallur
@akshayrhallur Жыл бұрын
"Type" property helps us to process our inbox items in GTD-style and prfioritize tasks well. Status of tasks can be easily tracked with the "Done" checkbox.

Maybe I am missing something, how do you get the Next 7 days view at the 11:56 mark?
@akshayrhallur
@akshayrhallur Жыл бұрын
If you have any tasks for the next 7 days, Notion will automatically create the toggle for you. Now as Notion has rolled out "Calendar by Week", use that view here as "Upcoming view", it makes more sense now.

Thanks for the valuable feedback, Matthew. Yeah, hopefully now I have improved on my accent and the delivery of the message will be crystal clear. In my recent uploads, I think I have striked the chord between reducing the fluff and making the content easily comprehensible.

I agree with @@akshayrhallur , what you talk about is good but you need to focus on showing the crucial steps a little bit more in detail. It's nice to see your face, but to see what you are doing on your computer is what actually matters. Following your video to learn and implement what you teach is a bit to much time spent on hitting pause, play, step back, etc. Had to play at 0.75 speed to see what settings you did, and still it was a bit unclear. Hope this comment will help to improve your upcoming videos. Looking forward to see what you create.
